Johntay Cook Uncle Would like to have a word…

Yeah but he fumbled 2x last week.
Yeah, the one that got punched out was on him. But no one wants to talk about the other one where he made a fantastic catch after Collins threw him a hospital ball and proceeded to get knocked out cold as a result on the hit and dropped the ball.

He’s been fantastic for us, and I can’t even be mad at his uncle cause he’s RIGHT. It’s also incredibly frustrating when the HC won’t even acknowledge how horrid the QB play is so I don’t blame anyone that close to the team for emotional reactions right now because it’s nothing we haven’t been screaming at the TV ourselves.

Couple of things. Johntay is having a career year. I’ll forget about the two fumbles he caughed up last week.

On the “our chances at the league” tells me everything I need to know. That Syracuse is a great spot for him and getting out of Texas was the best thing for the kid. There needs to be distance and boundaries between Johntay and the entourage for him to grow.

That said, 4th school in 4 years? Sure NFL GM’s will love that….

This guy is looking at Johntay as a lotto ticket. It’s really sad because Johntay is a good kid and has done everything that’s asked of him here.

Hoping Johntay can put the boundaries needed for him to continue to grow as a young man. The NFL isn’t going anywhere.

He’s had drops all year.

He's had a few they all do. The Bama starter has dropped a couple to, as has the amazing freshman at Miami. I saw them. There is no one on this Syracuse team with Cooks combo of athleticism, strength and twitch quickness. He's a kid who definitely looks like he should've been playing in last nights miami game.

We'll replace him just not with kids who are as good.

We have kids who can catch passes but I don't see anyone on the team of the caliber of Cook. He's elite.
Definitely. But honestly, the real focus should be on solidifying the defense and getting Angeli back to full strength.

Losing a kid who didn’t want to be here (if he leaves)—along with his loudmouthed entourage—really isn’t the catastrophe some people think it is.

It’s easy to spiral and act like the sky is falling after a few ugly losses, but the truth is simpler: we’re one good quarterback away from turning the tide.

With the right guy under center, we’re not getting embarrassed by Duke at home—we’re beating SMU and reminding everyone that Syracuse football isn’t broken, it’s just waiting to wake up.

Im gonna take a wild guess that he calls UNC today and tells him to not speak on his behalf. Put the beer down buddy.

Yeah, and so what.
He honestly has looked massively disinterested even in preseason interviews. Very subtly bashed this city. Talent will never usurp good authority and the importance of team. I do not care how talented you are especially in football. Because it is massively reliant on others for success. Ensuing life will reflect. If this is a true reflection of him and his family, correct it or go. By the way I do not think he is as talented as Trebor in any way shape or form at this point. And he is totally replaceable. If he does not correct what was said and take accountability for what his uncle said Big red flag. We gave him another chance, we at this university. let him go and stay true to the vision. Many do not understand the importance of goodness and integrity and holding your brother up. But those who do know it can make or break a team. I trust for Grace and continued vision for Coach Fran, coaches and key stakeholders. They need it just like the rest of us? I sure do and ask for it. The "why"is so critical, Definitely bigger than yourself. thank you Go

Respectfully, I’m not sure I agree with one thing in this post. And we can’t hold him responsible for his uncle.

Honestly, I struggled with that a bit. However He is a young man who is responsible for his own actions both now and previously. And what he does with what occurred is out in public view previously concerning his choices and now with what others have said about the team he is associated with including release of video content which is potentially damaging to the team, a young quarterback who is attempting to grow and most importantly the team. Almost like this, What grows in darkness will always come out in light if someone has the light in them or around them. Make it right and you're good, if not I would not be interested at this time. I totally see and understand your perspective as well. So thank you. Sort of a lot bigger than football times a million.
