I don't think anyone's claiming that a player at GT "can't" make the NBA. The league finds guys in Estonia .. I think they can find one in the ATL. The difference is a marginal player might get a little more exposure at SU, since SU (normally) goes farther into the NCAA tournament ... which is a big scouting opportunity. Malachai Richardson is a recent example.
We're also regularly on ESPN more than just an ESPNU Sunday Night Game.

At the moment SU is better at producing players for the NBA. Besides our latest coach for 5 years in Brian Gregory (only 1 player made it: Marcus Georges Hunt) GT has a rich history of NBA players, which is why I dont understand why SU fans think you can't make the NBA from tech.
Current players:
Chris Bosh
Iman Shumpert
Derrick Favors
Jarrett Jack
Anthony Morrow
Thaddeus Young
Marcus Georges Hunt
Will Bynum
Then our former players:
Kenny Anderson (heard of em?)
Stephon Marbury (heard of em?)
Mark Price
Dennis Scott
John Salley
Jon Barry
Drew Barry
Travis Best
Ivano Newbill
and more
Future NBA players:
Ben Lammers
Josh Okogie
Jordan Tucker

Saying SU can put you in the NBA way easier than GT is false. Maybe so with our last coach who couldn't recruit but our history and current coach can and will do it.

You don't even know if Tucker is going to Gt. We have put a lot more guys than you have of late, and it isn't really close.

One guy with 3 posts on their board said he just got off the phone with KennyTheJet and Kenny said JT is going to Syracuse. Sounds credible.
3 posts total?

Georgia Tech has a nice basketball history, for sure. But just dismissing the recent times and naming Bosh and Jack like they're recent...Jordan Tucker was like 3 years old when they played at GT. Cuse has at least one first round pick pretty much every season.

A guy over there just posted that he spoke to a prominent ATL HS coach and he's doubling down on his call of JT to GT.

Meanwhile, GT fans are mocking us on their board that shall not be named. They posted one of orangefog 's posts saying with x-number of pages in this thread, JT better be the second coming of Carmelo. They said some folks here need a life and won't come out of mommy's basement until June if JT picks GT. Ha.

(Mom, the meatloaf! The meatloaf!)

So basically they're mocking us for being a big time program with big time fan support? Makes sense.

Ha, Butterbean. He wrecked Bart Gunn in Brawl For All.

Gunn looked legit after crushing Dr Death, then got splattered in a boxing match which ruined his wrestling career. There's a podcast about Brawl for it All on the Prichard show. Was awesome.

Yeah, can't believe they did shoot fights. Dr. Death got hurt or he probably would've won. The whole thing was designed to get him over.

What a train wreck. That was such a terrible idea. Not as stupid as the idea of Hogan putting over Sting, but stupid none the less.

That doesn't seem like a great strategy.

You're up against sanctions on top of a set retirement date, everyone able to negative recruit you, you do what you have to do.

How do the sanctions effect anything?

We're in the post season, we have plenty of scholarships, we are still on TV. The excuse is done and old. Our staff got lazy, it seems like the only time the staff is doing anything is when it's at the last second when they have to pull a bunny out of a hat like they did last year.

We need more than we lost to make this team on the right side of the bubble, hate to break it and it's not a news flash, weren't not even close.

You think they've had no effect? Wow. Alright.

Certain people around here seem to feel like we're incapable of missing a beat. We were hammered by the ncaa. Public opinion against us has a big deal with others being able to recruit against us. JB up until a couple months ago had a set retirement date. Think about how easy that is to recruit against us. And people wonder why we've struggled to bring in the type of talent we have in the past...

Looking at Techs team i honestly dont think JT will make the NBA if he goes there. JB has a unique way of showcasing players with Tuckers skill set and getting them in the league. The exposure he would get at Syracuse dwarfs anything that GT can provide. Its not even close

This thread is making me wonder how the hell we ever made it through TT's, AWIII's, battles and Bryant's recruitments.

Of all the reasons in this thread as to why Tucker "must" go to SU, this might hold the least water. IF he is an NBA talent (not so sure that's true, BTW), you're suggesting that not only will NBA scouts be less likely to notice him of he plays for GTech, but he wouldn't even make the league? How can ANY NBA type talent playing in the most exposed league in the nation have his exspoure to NBA scouts drawfed? I think, at best, you are confusing ESPN time with NBA scouting. Or, is it that Pastner is less likely to feature the skill set of an NBA type talent? That makes even less sense.

GaTech hasn't gotten very many guys drafted of late.
Pastner hasn't gotten very many guys drafted at all.

But put them together, and they're the next Kentucky at sending guys to the NBA?

Meanwhile, SU has been to 3 Final Fours in Tucker's lifetime, and has had a first rounder drafted for how many consecutive years now?

Maybe being close to family is very important to him. You can't put a price tag on that. I have no idea where he is going, I'm just saying that factor is difficult to weigh and varies by individual.

Hope we get tucker but we should remember we picked up our last leading scorer in August.

Yeah, now that's a recipe for success, isn't it?

Fact: GT doesnt get kids in the NBA

You'd have preferred we not land AWIII at the last minute?

It's just nice to still have a fallback option, if the HS recruiting doesn't go as planned.
We didn't land TT or Uncle Drew until very late last year - we woulda been screwed without either of them.
