As much as I hate G'town, you have to marvel at some of the production JTIII gets out of the least likely sources. Sims having the year he's having out of nowhere is unreal and otto porter is a really, really nice player. I know he was a top 100 guy, but still -- 9.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.1 TO/game, 52% shooting from the floor 70+% from the line. Huge year for a frosh in this conference, especially in a year when scoring seems to be down.
He did it last year, to a much lesser extent, getting a good year from Julian Vaughn and a really solid year from Hollis Thompson to give them a 4th scorer.
Anyway, I keep thinking this godforsaken program is about to collapse with all the transfers and the so-so recruiting, but JTIII does seem to do a solid job of finding what he needs to put together 20+ win teams. Kind of reminds me of JB from the mid-90s through the 00-01 season or so when he always seemed to find some way to get the team into the tourney with unexpected contributions (Damone Brown, Z Sims) or hidden gems on the recruiting trail (Moten, Shumpert, etc).
