Juan Castillo: New OL Coach

I have no clue how to judge OL coaches, let alone if the hiring of one is a good move.

If he can drag the carcass of this OL from hideous to mildly OK it’ll be a huge win.
Me too, I just know that Dale was BAD. Hopefully the new guy is great. Any improvement is welcome and hopefully it is MUCH better.

If you can run block, you can scheme and play call to make passing work. If you are just an avg pass block team that cant run its hard to run an offense. The game we actually had a running game like Clemson, the ball flowed much better.
If you can gash teams with a power game in Willis, and big plays with someone like James. Then you force teams to commit to the run and you bury them over the top with a lot of single coverage. An ideal system where you dictate every game by what you want to do.
That's how you compete for championships.

Mix in some slants with Cook and/or Boobie...how do you stop that offense?

Definitely looks like we're losing the passing attack we had this year...
If you can be effective on the ground you can
throw the ball 40+ times a game with no problem. Remember those teams with Lamar Jackson, some games they had almost 800 total yards.

It was a joke

Seems like a solid hire, clearly has a ton of experience. Interesting that he's more of a run game specialist considering we've been quite pass heavy when running our ideal offense with this staff. Hopefully it meshes rather than clashes.

Well, that's what we were missing last year. If the guy was an O Line coach for the Eagles for over a decade, you have to assume he is adequate at teaching both run blocking and pass blocking technique.

They have a lot of size on the O Line, and they're not just a bunch of fat guys.
I think they might make a real jump with better coaching.

I remember the first 17 games with Brown/Nixon. Pass first, good enough run game.
