I know the board had a mini-melt down during the game but here is how I saw the game. But first, I didn't get the board negativity after getting losing big to Clemson - its Clemson, their talent level is way above what we have and we have a new QB, WRs, OC, DC and HCSS.
Anyway, during this game there were two things that really bothered me. (1) All the preventable miscues/penalties - I really felt that under Marrone we started addressing these things and the teams played with more discipline and progressed in not committing so many self-inflicted mistakes. This is correctable and I hope the coaches preach this each and every practice, I mean, its a no-brainer, its about executing the play. (2) What the hell is wrong with our passing game? I just don't get how Hunt our West can be so far off with each other.
These are two of the things that really stood out for me during this game that I thought really made the game a lot more worrisome than it was. Thankfully, our D really played really well ... really .
Just some thoughts, I'm sure the guru's on here can break down our play significantly better than I but if we can correct at least these two areas I would feel much better about beating some of the teams remaining on our schedule. In the end, I'm going to cheer for SU to play hard and go for the win no matter how this season goes, but it would be nice to see some progress in these areas (for me, anyway).
