Just got my Renewal

Preferred Season Tickets: $190 (down from last year)
Non-Preferred Season Tix: $205 (down from last year)
3rd level corners: $125
Touchdown Town $99 (unchanged).
Effective per-game price increases*:
A Preferred: 36.21%
B Preferred: 34.12%
C Preferred: 32.31%
D Preferred: 31.48%
Non Preferred: 20.59%
Touchdown Town: 16.67%

* Preferred Seating comparison includes the per-seat donation

Note: these figures reflect "Football Only" prices
For those that have combined Football & Basketball Preferred Seating the per-game cost (does a football game count as 2 basket ball games?) increase would be much less.

CNYers will never cease to amaze. Go pay $8 at the drive thru for another big mac...yet $20 for the 4 hour gameday experience, and CNYers think they are being fleeced...

CNYers aren't football fans. They are cheap ass front runners who are only fans of winning.

No, 5 games=$20 a ticket. There's no incentive to be a season ticket holder. Every year, I renew and SUA discounts all these seats for less than $15 a game and they're usually better seats on the sideline.

Nominate for Bad Fan of the Week.

Instead of cancelling in a huff...use this opportunity to upgrade your food stamps to a better spot as other front runners leave.

While I don't agree with that entirely, I do agree that many SU "fans" are fair weather. Attendance numbers bear that out. In the 90s, SU was a sold winning team and it's no coincidence that attendance was relatively high... up to as much as 49K per year on average. SU has a core of about 30K fans who buys seasons tickets each year. The remaining 20,000 seats are for varying degrees of fair weather fans. That's why the marketing campaign in NYC metro. is critical. SU needs to tap into alumni more than it does. It needs that alumni fanbase to get excited and become diehard fans that buy season tickets.

So at $205 for two season tickets, you want more? What, are you serious. Yet you are here in March complaining about it. I have seen it all
I agree, speechless. Bye,

I agree, speechless. Bye,

It's a perfectly valid economic decision, but there's no need to act insulted by the renewal pricing. Again, go, don't go, buy, don't buy, but stop the complaining.

Exactly, there is a price point that most who want to buy season tickets can afford, I don't think they can go much cheaper. I agree tha the preferred seating has gotten top heavy but what does that have to do with people complaining about the cheap seats, do you want 50 yard line, row A for $125/ ticket.

The whining is ridiculous

Mine will cost $121.60 per game next year. IMO that is a crappy price for Stony Brook and a great price for NW, Pitt, UConn, and Louisville.

IMO the four 1A games should cost $150 for my seats. The 1AA $50 which averages out to $130.

That sounds about right and what I pay. But the thing is, not everyone can pay that when you consider if you want a few tix, you're talking $500 per game. PLUS, that is for the existing season ticket holders. Anyone new, has to pay that and 1000's more. Like I said in another post, new A's or B's have to commit $10K over the next 5 years. But people keep want to use the $100 ticket as the baseline like they all cost that much.

do you want 50 yard line, row A for $125/ ticket.
Excluding the minor initiation fee*, that seat now costs $158 per game.

* minor initiation fee = $10,000.

Has anyone else received renewal info yet?

I've seen nothing so far, and the online renewal system won't let me renew yet either. I wasn't expecting to see anything until midnight following the day of the Temple announcement, but the existence of this thread indicates that at least one person has received renewal info.

people here want $158 for the year, with initiation fee of $125, one time only

The $10,000 can be paid over 5 years and is considered a Orange Club donation, not the worst thing in the world.. If don't want to pay it, don't buy it, buy preferred C

There are options and plenty between food stamps and preferred A and B

It is there now when I log in. BBall too.

FB A is $223 a seat
BBall A is $441.75 a seat
Donation both $770 a seat

LOL

I guess some simply don't realize that better seats cost more money for most events (sports, concerts, etc.).

After I graduated I had season tickets in 251 and loved them. For the last few years I've been sitting in the SyracuseFan.com section and have loved those. I'm looking to move down into Preferred Seating seating this year.

There really are no "bad" seats for football in the Dome. If $99 seems like a ripoff to some, since they see the $15*5=$75 option, then that's fine. But please, don't complain about the "high price" of those seats. Most of us hope that attendance will increase as the program strengthens, thereby driving that $99 section into (near-)oblivion.

The fact that Preferred Seating fees are not pro-rated does make the increase in net per-game cost for those seats (> 31%) look outrageous.

c and d aren't cheap either for a lot of people. you keep talking like everything is cheap when in reality a lot of people cant afford 10k or 5k over 5 years yet you and others mock them like everything is a $99 seat. you go to some games, so you have seen all the empty seats between the 20's. now figure out how to fix that instead of harping on "we have such CHEAP seats at $99, stop your crying". the people that are or aren't wanting to buy the cheap seats are NOT the problem. follow this now, just 1 more A level donor for just 1 seat is equal to 22 people buying the cheap seats.

btw, you say $10k over 5 years isn't that bad (it is bad for most people) but if i am not mistaken, that is for 1 seat. most people buy more than 1 seat. so if you want 4, it's $40k (for 1st level A)

Well shown. And NOBODY increases ticket costs that much in 1 year. I didn't do the math but if your math is correct along with 5 games, USC being moved, etc etc, people have every right to comment. if your taxes went up that much in one year people would be railing on the politicians.

Dude, I've been checking daily.
I'm still not able to to pay for my seats... I must be low man on the totem pole.
For what it's worth, I didn't get any notifications about it but was able to login and see my invoice and pay for my tickets. A week ago when I logged in, I was getting a message that said invoices would be available soon.

It's correct.

I just updated my spreadsheet to include Preferred Seating for those that do both football and basketball.
It's a very different picture. It's almost like they're driving people out of the football-only preferred seating model.
Per-game pricing for football drops to less than half if one has football and basketball seats... based on 2 basketball games = 1 football game to compute per-game Preferred Seating pricing.

I guess I should pony up for both hoops and football and StubHub all of my hoops tickets. It'll be a new side business.

I still get that message.

I still get that message.

I can get in. Didn't pay yet though as I wait until the last minute or do the multiple payment option so that the money is in my hands longer and working for me.

Can see bball too.

Same problem. I've been checking suathletics.com/renewals every day since I got the initial letter in the mail (and why did they even send out a letter telling me I can now renew when I actually couldn't) and when I get to Page 6 in the PDF ("Renewal Summary Page") it's still blank and has the pop-up saying renewals will be available soon.

I guess they got the info up for some people, but not others? Hopefully we'll have our renewal info up soon.

I still get that message.

Are you football only or football AND basketball? I'm wondering if they just got it up for the fb/bb season ticket holders now, and will get to the fb only people later. I didn't renew my basketball season tix last year, so I'm football only now.

I'm FB only... though now considering going for both. That's kind of silly since I can't make 90% of the hoops games. TGD's pricing is pushing me there as well as becoming a secondary ticket market wh*re.
