To be fair, I think that's the one that quoted heavily from the thread that just trashed their program and said that we're too good for them. I think that's a normal reaction especially given that this year looks like an anomaly to outside observers of the program.

I think we'd win by two TDs if we were both at full strength. The fact we'll be close to full strength and they wont will be a tough game for them.

I looked at about six or seven posts and they were in agreement that we were extremely overconfident ( Taking several posts and summarizing). I actually haven’t read many predictions here but the fact that they tanked the last part of the season , they have 17 in portal, and McCord is playing, we have some legitimate reason to be confident.

I think they are misplacing overconfidence for the fact that they are in the bowl because they won their 2-team conference.

They are not going to get any Holiday Bowl respect playing in a 2-team conference with automatic bowl tie-in - nor should they until they are back in a legit conference.

They know that (even tho they may not want to admit it.)

It’s no different no matter how you justify it. I could easily argue McCord is better served sitting and waiting until the All-Star game where he will be in front of NFL coaches. It’s not like they don’t have two seasons worth of film on McCord and an injury to him is far more impactful because there is a draft in April while Mateer would have until September to heal.

Something I find really weird is that McCord was in a lot of NFL top 100 players for the draft lists before the season. Now he aggregates out to 223rd. I know Jrs that come out cause guys to drop- but over 100 spots? That seems like a massive drop.

How did McCord become a LESS ATTRACTIVE draft prospect with his play this year?
