Justin Barron: Senior Bowl

Good for Barron.

Food for thought. Almost all senior bowl invitees end up drafted. Some don’t but you have to assume he has a draft able grade, which is great for him, for our program and for Fran Brown.

Always thought he was lb type but switching from 3-3 to 4-3 changes assignments and all. Has nfl size and speed.

This. Dude has linebacker size and strength and--I'm not sure how to say this politely--the "feral animal in human form" quality you love to see at the position. Can't wait to see him play Sundays.

AND - the fact that he’s spent a ton of time in coverage as a Rover / Star, and then was able to switch to LB and excel in that position too,
bodes well for his NFL success.

More and more they want LB’s who can cover, and also stop the run, and get after the QB.

His size, speed, and versatility are all highly desirable traits.

(He just needs to stop with the killer 1 dumb PF 15 yard penalty per game thing.)

Precisely. He broke his nose and took what, one play or series off, in the bowl game? It was insane. He looked like a boxer after that game.

I do think despite everyone’s feeling on our defense overall this past season that Barron maybe doesn’t get the flowers that he deserves. The D line was so depleted by the end of the season and he certainly masked a lot of those issues.

A few less missed tackles and it was a Steller year for Barron. If we get that level of play and effort from the whole D it would be a pretty good one.

1 = feet
2-3 = inches
4 = eighths of an inch

So 6027 would mean 6 ft, 2 and 7/8 inches
That may be the case for height, but I don't think that's the case for each metric. I doubt his wingspan is 7 ft and 61 8/8 inches. If it is, he needs to go #1 overall and he better block every kick and pick off every deep ball.

What are the units on these measurements?? Reeces Pieces diameters??
I think:
Height is 6' 3.5"
Hand is 9 3/8"
Arm is 31 6/8" (it bothers me that that wouldn't be reduced to 31 3/4")
Wing is 76 1/8"

For height 6’ 3 5/8”

Height
  • Reported as a four-digit number, with the first digit representing feet, the next two representing inches, and the last representing eighths of an inch
  • For example, 6013 represents 6 feet, 1 3/8 inches

When looking at the 2025 Senior Bowl measurements, Oregon Ducks star QB Dillon Gabriel had a height of “5104” — the first digit signifies how many feet, the second and third digits signify how many inches, and the fourth digit signifies any additional eights of an inch tall Gabriel measures. In Gabriel’s case, he measured in at 5’10 4/8″ (or 5’10 1/2″, for simplicity’s sake).

However, his wingspan (7168), arm length (3000), and hand size (L0900) are formatted slightly differently. The first two digits signify inches while the third signifies eighths of an inch. The fourth serves either as a placeholder to signify eighths (reading as “8”) or signify that it’s an even measurement (reading as “0”). In Gabriel’s case, he has a wingspan of 71 6/8″, an arm length of 30″, and a hand size of 9″.

And a Huge set of stones!
