jb will know when the time is right. just like he knew not to throw the freshman into the fire in the bryant game. he has a guard rotation he can trust & he will distribute the minutes game by game as necessary.
First, we should have smashed Bryant. Again, you rely on only one reality being available to us. Kadary should have played in the second half against Bryant.
But let's move on to "game by game".
We are 207th in 3PT%. This is mainly driven by Buddy and JGIII's terrible shooting from that range: Buddy under 26% this year and JGIII under 35%. Just so no one thinks I'm hiding AG's numbers, he's a smidge under 39%.
Buddy leads our team in FGA/game by almost a whole four shots per game (and this is over AG who has Dion Waiters' confidence).
Let's focus on who should be playing. I'm including PER, eFG% and TS%, which includes FTs, so Buddy and JGIII get the credit they deserve for their high FT%s.
Kadary:
PER: 21.6 (second best out of the 7 guys that play)
TS%: .579
eFG%: .500
Buddy:
PER: 12.1 (6th out of 7th)
TS%: .438
eFG: .402
JGIII:
PER: 11.8 (worst)
TS%: .469
eFG%: .428
Add in defense...
I'm all for riding the hot hand and I don't want anyone, Kadary or anyone else, playing almost 40 mpg, by any means. JGIII and especially Buddy are important to the team.
But right now we are seven games in. Let's start the most deserving players.
While we're at it, it may be a good idea for Buddy, who is averaging more FGA than PPG, to maybe be a little more discerning in his shot selection.
And just a shout out to Q who is first in PER (27.5), TS% and eFG% (over 71% in both). Maybe we should keep the guys in that pass him the ball.
Again, I want to be clear, we need Buddy and JGIII. I especially like Buddy. But, to me, this is no longer a "let's see who has it tonight" anymore. It's time to hand the keys to Kadary.
EDIT: I had Buddy's eFG% too *high*. It is actually lower. It is fixed now.
