How in the world did Kadary not develop into an NBA draft pick after what we saw from him on the Hill, in limited minutes, as a freshman? is it that he never really could shoot? I think it's a monumental developmental failure from all college coaches involved for this guy not to hear his name called.

How in the world did Kadary not develop into an NBA draft pick after what we saw from him on the Hill, in limited minutes, as a freshman? is it that he never really could shoot? That's the main thing. Also, he's a relatively average athlete, so having to hitch up his shorts and defend NBA caliber guards would be a challenge.

He had many of the other elements, and could still get there. But right now, the inability to shoot consistently is the main thing holding him back.

It sucks because things may have worked out better for him here and even so much as getting a chance to be drafted after a second year here and then develop at the next level vs now. At least he got his pound of flesh in massive NIL funds.

People assume guys like Mintz never worked on their shooting. Some guys just don't have it at a high level, even with countless hours of work.

Nothing about Kadary is NBA quality. In some ways that is why he was an attractive college player, he was never going anywere.

Most importantly and obviously, he can't shoot, and there just isn't a place in the NBA for a guard who can't shoot, unless you're a Westbrook type best athlete in the world. Kadary doesn'thave hops, and he's really slow by NBA guard standards.

He was great defensively in the zone but not as good man to man. Every coach he has had since high school complained publicly about his lack of a motor.

He's got size and he can pass, but you have to be really really good to be the guy who handles the ball all the time on an NBA team, and Kadary isn't useful off the ball because he can't shoot.

If Kadary changes his outlook and decides he wants to be in the NBA as a defensive role player, I believe he can be.

By NBA standards he is a little slow. He has the size and strength as well as some good defensive instincts, but his speed could hold him back.

He really hurt his development when he came into his sophomore season over weight and like he did nothing from the day he left SU. Then he clearly wasn’t pushed very hard to improve at the Hall. Not saying its a lock he could have made strides to improve but his choices choked off that opportunity and now the weaker parts of his game seem a long haul to overcome.

Good player but don’t see his game translating to the NBA.

Plus, the NBA drafts on potential. Not sure how much more upside he has.

IMO, his ability to get to the hoop is NBA quality and was as good as any guard in the country at that. M2M he was close to unstoppable without help, then was a good passer out of the double.

But other than that I agree the speed he plays at and poor shooting does not likely translate to the pros. But I would not rule out the possibility.

JB was right to limit his shooting with Buddy and JG3 as better options. But wish it was handled better because I was a big fan of his game.

That first point is so good. We've lost many guys over the years with loads of potential before we got to tap it, that having someone with a great college game that doesn't translate to the pros seemed like a gift.

Kadary is a very solid college player and fringe NBA player. Guys like him are lucky in this NIL age where they hold a lot of value in college and if smart, can maximize their value to make more than they ever will on the pro level.

Hunter Dickinson played it well and is a model (along with Bacot) on how to maximize your college value.

The great thing for those guys is they can still make money on the pro level overseas if not lucky to land on the right time where they are given a chance. By the way, Dickinson just signed a 2 way contract.

I believe he was in the mock drafts for a short period. Even the NBA guys get it wrong, Darrow Milicic and Frederic Weis. Even John Wallace and Pearl Washington.

I remember when the Jazz traded up to draft Trey Burke. I thought it was the steal of the Century. He did bounce around the league for a long time but never got better than his rookie season.

Exactly and while we certainly were stuck as a bubble team he went to a program no one pays any attention to and was coddled.

The kid can’t shoot at all and gets winded after five minutes of playing time. He’s the definition of overrated. He seems to be in constant foul trouble.
