Kadary smiled yet in Indy?

Yeah I am with you. It's a good problem to have regarding talent but I would hate to lose a possible future first rounder over commitment to start a guy one year older.
yikes...I mean Kadary is good enough to be a starter on a top team. Can't really blame him if he wants to do that and can only do it elsewhere...but it would SUUUUUCKKKKKK so badly to lose him.

if that's what it came down to...I would start him.

The old school ways of waiting your turn and being patient...just don't fly as easily anymore with players...transfer portal is changing the game.

Blackwell said publicly he has heard rumors of kadary wanting to leave? If so, that's surprising and im shocked him saying that hasn't been brought up on here yet. Maybe bulldog can weigh in on this one?
even if there's some validity, frankly I can't believe someone like Blackwell would put it out there like this. seems very irresponsible and, well, with some kind of intended harm - does he have a beef w JB these days? axe to grind because he was passed over for a staff position?

Kadary went live on IG with woody last night. Woody said he wasn’t gonna be here next season and the video immediately ended. The video was like 5 seconds long until Kadary immediately ended it. I hope he’s just frustrated from not playing and that’s all it was.

Exactly my thought as well...

Woody said Kadary wouldn't be here or that he wouldn't be here and then kadary ended it?

Thats...not good as well

When players used to stay 4 years and maybe leave after 3 if they were really good, it made sense to preach patience and lean on your upper classmen. Those days are gone, and most good players expect they might be leaving after 1 year and staying at most 3 years. Asking kids these days to bide their time for 1/2 to 1/3 of their only window to impress scouts is a recipe for disaster.

No, woody said he wouldn’t be here on Kadarys live video. So Kadary was recording Woody saying he wouldn’t be here next season. Hopefully he’s just frustrated from his lack of playing time

Blackwell doesn’t know squat. All he says is he here’s things. Kadary‘s not going anywhere. Why? He’s in a three guard rotation on a good team. JB even subbed Buddy a few times yesterday. When JB has confidence in players, they play. If Kadary works hard and turns up his motor a little bit, he will get a lot of playing time next year. I don’t think he expected to come to SU and start.

It's definitely a rumor circulating in town. No idea if it's true but it's been out there for a while now.

I guess you never know with these kids and things are all over the place with this year's supposed transfer rule.

In the video Blackwell made it sound like he heard those rumors since the beginning of the year, so maybe it was talked about at one point but has since changed.

Yeah - How Kadary felt a month or 2 (or 3) ago - vs how he feels NOW, may be 2 entirely different things.

Sad to hear that Woody appears to be entering the he gone zone.
Sigh.

From surprise frosh contributor to milk carton.
Did I mention? Sigh.

Kadary prepped, so he's one of the oldest freshmen in the country, I believe. Born in 2001.

My guess is the plan is/was to go pro (NBA or otherwise) after next year. I believe

If that's your plan, you need to be a featured player the year leading up to your exit.

I don't think anyone would be surprised that my take is Kadary should already be starting and absolutely should start next year, but if JB is going to start JGIII next year, who knows what Kadary will do.

Dion was in Indy this weekend, he needs to talk to Kadary.

If a P5 school says “come here and I promise you 35 minutes a game”, why wouldn’t he give a long thought about that?

What school of our stature doesn't have a PG that would challenge for minutes or a highly touted prospect coming in?

Honestly next year JB will probably start Buddy at the 3. Its best for him as a pro prospect to earn time there. Kadary and Joe will both start.

Griffen is the guy who makes the most sense to leave.

Dion wasn't behind JGIII. It is not apples to apples.

Honestly if it wasn’t his cousin (Scoop) who he was behind, you’re right Dion might have bolted. Hopefully Kadary has that same killer instinct that Dion had though in wanting to prove he won’t be denied minutes and is the best player on the court regardless if he started or not.

Great question and Boeheim has gotta be pissed at Blackwell for saying something like this publicly.

MCW sat behind scoop too. Jb plays upper classmen even when they aren’t the best player.

BTW, I don't want to take this as a slam on Joe.

Personally, I just think Joe should be the backup guard in the three man rotation.

I think he'd do better being able to be off ball at least part of the time and just, in general, be a more efficient player.

And, when he's hot, totally ride him.

I'm not anti-Joe. I just think Kadary is better for the team and should start, but in no way do I think he should be playing 40 mpg.
