Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

Look, I love Kyle and am deeply thankful for his time at Cuse, but fans will riot if the Gmen use a second-round pick on another sub-elite Syracuse QB prospect
Explain to me how the all-time season passing yardage record-holder in the history of the ACC can be classified as "sub-elite"? Also, the guy rarely loses -- career 22-4 as a starter. Since you said "another", it sounds like you are comparing him with DeVito, but the reality is that Tommy was an undrafted QB from Illinois. It is apples and oranges. I am as big a Giants fan as anyone (and wouldn't riot) -- I just want the best available QB if they wait until the 2nd round. Jaxson Dart "might" be better and seems to be the trendy #3 QB at the moment based on his great bowl game and Milroe sucking in his. My hope (as a Giants fan) if Ward and Sanders are off the board is to sign Fields and draft one of the other 3 to develop (Dart, Milroe, McCord). And if you want to expand it to 5 (with Howard/Ewers) then I am fine with that. But I think it is playing with fire to try to wait until the 3rd round to take a QB. In fact, I am nervous that some of these other guys (after Ward/Sanders) could potentially sneak into the 1st round.

Anyone remember Kyle’s first few passes in Orange? It’s worth a rewatch just for laughs against Ohio.

Our first possession he had two pretty bad passes then punted. We were down 6-0. I remember telling people this might be a long season.

Then the next 3 drives Kyle took us 75 yards next 3 possessions for 3 scores. Rest of the season was history.

No, I think he means Nassib. Didn't the Giants draft Nassib?

I was at that game. I remember thinking oh god!
Then the next series happened and he was off.
Literally he only had one bad half all year - the Pitt game and some of those interceptions were wierd.
The one where the defender was lying on his stomach and the ball literally dropped into his hands like manna from heaven.
After that, I knew there was no way we were winning that game. Destiny was against us.

Yea I was one of like 10 orange fans at Pitt game Thursday night. Everyone had already been to Vegas or nc state. No one wanted to be at that Pitt game. Then Pitt lost 7 straight games.

Yes, but Nassib was drafted in the 4th round, just 14 months after Eli won his 2nd Super Bowl (and SB MVP) in four years. Nassib was not drafted to replace Eli, who was still in the prime of his career (played 7 more seasons after Nassib was drafted).

Perception is reality, and way more people watched Kyle at Ohio State then watched him dominate a soft schedule at Cuse. The first time he had a lot of eyes on him was during the Pitt game, and had his worst game of the year.

I truly love Kyle and think he doesn’t get the respect he deserves, but you’d have to be crazy to think giants fans are looking to follow up Daniel Jones with Honda McCord

You truly love him and don't think he gets the respect he deserves, but you refer to him in a way that Ohio State fans do to kind of make fun of him.

The board during the first round of that draft was hilarious. Some posters I used to respect actually thought Marrone's Bills were going to pick Nassib in the first round.

Okay, I'd like to get the board's thoughts for an article (not quoting anyone directly). Did Kyle make the right move in heading to the 2025 NFL Draft, and by extension, who do you think will be Syracuse's starting QB next season?
We don’t have the data Team McCord does, but it sounds like feed back they got recently tipped the scales, so based on their past process it’s probably the right move

Have no idea who the starter will be

That is what every single giants fan and the New York Post will call him. I want him to do well, and going to NY would be terrible for him

Perception is reality? Perception and reality can overlap but they are not synonymous.

But I can understand not wanting McCord to be fed to the wolves.

I think this was the right call for Kyle.

He’s going to wow teams in pre-draft meetings and in white board sessions, and while I think he has more than enough arm strength for the NFL, I think his lack of elite arm strength and freakish measurables will keep him from going in the 1st.

I expect him to be a 3rd or 4th round pick for a team who has invested draft capital and/ or money in a QB, but might not be loving their investment (Saints, Dolphins, Browns, Jags), or a competing team with an aging vet (Rams, Lions).
