Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

You can’t tell me after watching McCord this year, that he isn’t the best NFL prospect we’ve had since McNabb. Dude is a magician with his brain and ball placement. There are just so many on time throws that couldn’t be walked out and handed to a receiver in a better spot than where he threw it.

Can’t wait to watch him find a spot at the next level

Hell of a day for McCord. You can’t tell me he wasn’t keeping an eye on that UM-OSU game. Then knowing OSU post after he was scapegoated for last year. Then McCord just goes out and balls out vs the #6 team in the country. Throws 3 TDs and almost 400 yards and no interceptions. That was a beautiful poetic FU to Ohio State from McCord. Best single season by a Syracuse QB in my opinion

All year McCord has been great at being good enough every game

Down 21, he turned in a truly great game 380 Yards on only 36 passes , 3 tds, no picks 188 rating

Good enough?? I think you’re truly insane. You get way too caught up in arbitrary ratings. Have you actually watched him play ??? He has been phenomenal all season. The best I’ve seen in college

NFL scouts seem to be down on him. He looked as good as the Miami QB to me...Maybe Cam has a better arm and throws with more velocity, but McCord is just so accurate with the ball. People talk about accuracy as if it isn't as valuable a skill as velocity, but I think there is more room for an accurate, passer with a quick release than there is for for a low accuracy passer with a lot of heat on his throws... As my golf coach once told me..."The Woods is full of Long Ball Hitters"!

He’s ridiculously underrated. Now sure how much better a QB could be. No he’s not mobile but neither were most of the all time greats. They were all great passers that’s what quarterback do

Madei Williams
Troy Nunes
PERRY Patterson
RJ Anderson
Terrel Hunt
Greg Paulus
Andrew Robinson
Eric Dungey
Garret Schrader
Tommy Devito
Cecil Howard
Zack Mahoney
Rex Culpepper
Drew Allen
Ryan Nassib)

These are most of the QBs since McNabb. No offense to any of them who played hard for SU (especially Nassib and Dungey), but this season has been a long time coming.

Does he get some All American consideration?

I think a lot of people (maybe not around here) are going to be surprised by how high McCord gets drafted. I think the media/fan perception of him is totally off. The worst thing I can say about him is that he has 1-3 throws a game that are at-risk and shouldn't have been thrown, and there are very few if any college kids who don't do that.

People will point to the Pitt game to critique him, but the OL didn't give him a chance.

He's smart, he executes the offense on time, and he's accurate. I think teams will consider him in the first round, and I'd be shocked if he falls past the third round.

I think his absolute floor in the NFL is a very good backup, and in my opinion there is no ceiling. That's not to say he's a lock to be a Pro Bowler, but with his skillset it's possible he gets to that level.

Obviously this is great for our program and our reputation.

Serious question.

Can a bowl offer a player NIL to get a player to play in the game? Obviously would have be a high level bowl to make it worth McCord’s while. But would sell more tix and be better TV ratings I would guess.
