I think a lot of people (maybe not around here) are going to be surprised by how high McCord gets drafted. I think the media/fan perception of him is totally off. The worst thing I can say about him is that he has 1-3 throws a game that are at-risk and shouldn't have been thrown, and there are very few if any college kids who don't do that.
People will point to the Pitt game to critique him, but the OL didn't give him a chance.
He's smart, he executes the offense on time, and he's accurate. I think teams will consider him in the first round, and I'd be shocked if he falls past the third round.
I think his absolute floor in the NFL is a very good backup, and in my opinion there is no ceiling. That's not to say he's a lock to be a Pro Bowler, but with his skillset it's possible he gets to that level.
Obviously this is great for our program and our reputation.
