Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

I think a lot of people (maybe not around here) are going to be surprised by how high McCord gets drafted. I think the media/fan perception of him is totally off. The worst thing I can say about him is that he has 1-3 throws a game that are at-risk and shouldn't have been thrown, and there are very few if any college kids who don't do that.

People will point to the Pitt game to critique him, but the OL didn't give him a chance.

He's smart, he executes the offense on time, and he's accurate. I think teams will consider him in the first round, and I'd be shocked if he falls past the third round.

I think his absolute floor in the NFL is a very good backup, and in my opinion there is no ceiling. That's not to say he's a lock to be a Pro Bowler, but with his skillset it's possible he gets to that level.

Obviously this is great for our program and our reputation.
I completely ageee !

Whatever it takes to get another top qb has to be a priority.I don’t care what SU has to do, but they cannot derail this momentum by hoping some unproven kid can take us to the top.Beg, borrow and steal if you have to but get r done.

So I am not going to box McCord into if he can or can't make it in the NFL. Dude has a really quick release and maybe not a canon for an arm but throws anywhere in the QB tree with accuracy. Also a competitor. Let's just enjoy and see how the chips fall for him. Lots of people were certain Zaire would not make it either and dude is ballin and cashing checks.

McCord isn't as physically gifted as some other guys, but that may not matter. Some of the best ever weren't the most physically gifted. Ryan Leaf had a stronger arm than Manning. If you see Tom Brady's pics from the combine he doesn't even look like an athlete. Joe Montana wasn't known for his arm strength. The truth is nobody knows how guy will be until he gets to the pros. I hope that whenever he is drafted, it is to a good organization where he'll have a chance to learn and then prove himself.

Serious question.

Can a bowl offer a player NIL to get a player to play in the game? Obviously would have be a high level bowl to make it worth McCord’s while. But would sell more tix and be better TV ratings I would guess.
No, that would be pay to play.

There are literally Clemson fans giving money towards Syracuse NIL, haha absolutely amazing
P.S. read the comments, it's a show!

I haven’t read anyone’s responses, but I’ll say what I said to my brother. Not the best qb we’ve ever had, but the best passer we’ve ever had
It's hard to differentiate. But, McCord reads defenses and delivers unlike anyone we've ever had, in an era we haven't ever faced. So blessed to have him for a year.

I think you’re wrong, he’s the best one we have had. The way he reads the defense, accuracy, poise in the pocket, leadership,….he’s number one and I don’t think it’s close.

I think he'll be squarely in NFL backup territory...
but if he can figure out how to model himself after Brock Purdy - who is 1-2" shorter - he could stick as a starter.
Will just take some time.
Also.. unsure why his passes sail - in a couple games - and Pitt was a disaster.

He has tremendous arm talent -- touch, accuracy, deep arm -- and the ability to read defenses and process information quickly. He could develop into a starting caliber NFL QB in the right system. Or he could have a lengthy career as a backup. Either way, he'll get a shot.
