Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

As much as I would love to see Kyle McCord back for another year, I don't understand why he would want to do that. He's had just about as perfect year as anyone could dream of, so I don't see how he could improve his draft stock with another year. But that's why I don't get the big bucks.
He had a lot of negative perceptions going into this year, he had to establish that he might have a pro future. Another year that is high performance against the schedule next year could push him into the 2nd or 3rd round, which is multiples more per year and guaranteed than 4th on down, which is where he is now. He gets compensated at where his draft grade would be, then he’s net for one year and nothing but upside from a draft perspective (assuming he doesn’t have a career ending injury).

He didn’t shut it down, decision next two weeks. Obvious that if he comes back it’s to improve his draft grade. The top half of the draft is a huge difference than the bottom.

I think his preference is to come back.
I’m sure his preference is to come back.

Syracuse is the college experience he didn’t get at OSU. Now he’s Beloved by coaches, teammates and fans. He’s making great money, can improve his draft position and be on pre season Heisman lists.

He can be a P4 starting QB or a mid to late rounds pick fighting to stick on roster

Why wouldn’t he want to come back ?

Spot on.

We need several pieces from the portal if SU wants to be a playoff contender next year. The two we have now are not going to get it done.

I share that point. And I am getting a little worried early that we are not going big game hunting. Last year we got Diggs and a db that made 3rd team all acc. Now, he wasn't a big add but Diggs was and we are losing Wax and JB along with Diggs. We have lost two starting db's to the portal. We need a lot of help on defense if we want to be a real contender.

Be patient. I think some of our targets are still playing (ie. second string guys on teams still playing who don’t want to bail yet)

One crisis at a time people! Really though yea we need more on D but depth too. Sure we all want to see that big name that opposing offenses just can’t block but having the whole front DL and LB crew fresh down the stretch of games and In November is how we keep this thing going.

That doesn't exactly reassure me. I was hoping for guys that have started somewhere else even if they are just stars from lower division.
Meeks had a grand total of 10 receptions in 3 years at Georgia. There are covered diamonds out there. I trust Fran to uncover them. If this A&M DE commits, we'll have our Diggs replacement.

We need help at all three levels on defense.

Yep my thoughts are we are losing a lot of star talent and maybe using our NIL to pay for more scholarships to have more players out there….interesting strategy but still think we need a few key guys especially on defense.

Here is a thought on a potential law suit. The information out there is that the waiver was made months ago. It loos like the ncaa slow rolled the decision. I could see an argument that if the waiver is denied at this point Kyle could argue bad faith in asking for an injunction. Because of the delay he would not have time to litigate the issue prior to having to make a decision for the nfl. Thus, the injunction should be granted to allow him to play.
