Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

Well boys, with the buildup to the NFL draft and the subsequent career that will follow, this thread ain't dying anytime soon!

I’m already thinking about next years schedule.

A lot riding on a game that was scheduled years ago to pad Tennessee's schedule.

If Fran can somehow work some magic on August 30th we’ll be spending a solid amount of time in the top 25 next year early on even if the crazy schedule catches up with us later in the season.

Okay, I'd like to get the board's thoughts for an article (not quoting anyone directly). Did Kyle make the right move in heading to the 2025 NFL Draft, and by extension, who do you think will be Syracuse's starting QB next season?
I believe Kyle made the right choice. Timing was right for him with the qb draft class being as weak as it is. Leading the country in passing and a clean bill of health. He has to feel confident and upbeat with his success this year.
I will take a swing and say Jakhari will get the nod to replace Kyle

It’s ironic that the two guys Fran mentioned that he wanted to come back, LaQuint and Kyle, and they both said no thank you.

I can imagine his mindset of going to classes and doing homework for classes instead of developing and watching film was probably many of us equivalents of being stuck in too many meetings at work instead of having time to do the work.
After M Harrison, Jr. was drafted, he said his success was due to him being in the football facility all day. Apparently, you don't have to go to class at OSt; don't know if that is true for SU.

You cut off the paragraph thanking Ryan Day.

Here’s that part:

Us long as he goes early enough to get guaranteed money he made the right decision. As fir who starts spring ball will give everyone a chance.
I don't think that will be settled until midway through practice in the fall. Nixon had 2 different QB's at Baylor and won with both.

Well, we will see how good a rating system 247 has as they have him rated 111th on their qb board, a few spots below Belin.
The Texas people from what I heard had related him as 5th best in the state.

Yea good call. I’d be a heck of a lot more worried if Nixon was at risk of getting sniped. I’m really excited to see what he does year 2. Imagine what he can do with an offense that isn’t so one dimensional and special teams that are just average next year.

Good luck Kyle -- hope he crushes it!!!

This decision ends what he called a “crazy ride” through college football that saw him go 22-4 as a starting quarterback at both Syracuse and Ohio State. He said he’s “forever indebted” to Syracuse for his time there and thanked his teammates, the staff and fans. McCord told ESPN: “With the way everything played itself out and what I’m hearing in terms of feedback at the draft, it just makes sense to go, after weighing all the options out.”

Great kid! Thank you for a magical season, Kyle! Bust 'em up!

We've got 3 or 4 talented guys competing to be our QB for the next 3 years.
Last time we had that, a guy named McNabb won the job, and we were pretty good for the next 4 years.

Yes I think Kyle made the right move. His NFL draft stock would not be any higher next year. I think he will be a top five QB drafted. I’m going with Rickie Collins at QB next year

His draft stock would be higher only if we had another 10 win season and made the playoff.
Less than that, and he would take a step back.
Ten big playmakers, apart from Kyle, were already gone.
Totally the right decision.
