LAX Schedules / COVID Updates

Duke scheduled 14 games to Cuse 12. The other 4 ACC teams always seem to schedule 1 or 2 more regular season games than Cuse. Is that because of better weather (not ND) or due to add of some weekday games. Do correct me if my sense is wrong.

Duke first 8 opponents are out of conference before a string of 6 acc games to close out regular season.

Better to be facing Duke later than earlier because they should be better prepared n assimilated given earlier start to practice plus having full squad intact in fall to play several competitive inter squad games.

Been raves about Sowers talents and how he is sharpening both their offense as well as their defense which is added benefit of having a dodging force at X. Wish he had gone to PSU.

O Neill showed in fall that he's real deal as did Cuse's Hiltz. Difference in size but both rooks are going to star for respective programs, just a matter of when.

As far as I know its all about avoiding as many mid week games as possible. Danowski and Desko are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Danowski will schedule Fri/Sun games and has no issues with mid week games, Desko on the other hand is not a fan and tries to avoid them as much as possible. If you check most years, SU usually plays at max 2 mid week games and there usually spaced out and toward the end of the year. Its why in non covid years Duke is playing 15-16 games and were playing usually 12 and some years maybe 13. The amount of fall and pre-season scrimmages comes into play as well, where SU usually plays several kocking down the max number of games they can play, Duke plays 1 or none.

Has the TV schedule come out yet?
Three and possibly four TV games you can count on based on the Duke release - UNC at Duke 4/1, Duke at UVa 4/15, and ND at Duke, 4/22 on the ACC Network Thursday night game. The 4th possible TV game is Duke at Richmond, Fri 3/5. Last year everyone was scheduled to play one Thursday night at home and one away. I think it's pretty safe to assume that the Thursday night ACCN game will be a permanent fixture.

Some additions Towson @ UVa 2/6; Towson @ Duke, 2/20;.

CAA is having some home-and-homes, like the ACC is. Towson will have H&H with Drexel, Hofstra and Delaware.; playing UMass (A) and Fairfield (H) only once.

I have access to a list of D1 schools that are still looking to add games. There are 17 schools on the list, but none are from the ACC.

Just received an e-mail from Lars Tiffany. He said that the schedules are as complete as they can be and the teams are awaiting the final notification from ESPN on dates and times for the games they want to broadcast. Since Duke has released theirs, ESPN has completed their review for them.

UVa @ Navy Sat. 5/1. Of note (it may be wishful thinking, though), Navy is scheduled to play @ Penn 3/13.

its crazy that the Ivies still dont know whats going on.

As much testing as they have done the decision to not play the money making sports was probably not well thought out.. Its one thing to stop in the spring or play fall football.. but as time goes on they probbaly should have played bball/hockey starting in jan.

The fact the IVY hasn't figured this out yet is an embarrassment. There destroying lax careers of great players

Oh geez. Some kid with an 1200 SAT goes IVY because he's good at lacrosse and parlays it into a multi-million dollar career in fiance, consulting, or law. But their lax "careers" are destroyed.

The kids that wanted to bail were able to bail. The others will be fine. They havent figured it out because they dont need to - there's no urgency. It's telling that the two conferences that have done the least on the athletics front are the ones most renowned for their academics.

This is kind of crazy - Denver has indeed been practicing but has to exclude 17 players from each practice. Game day is only day they’ve allowed to be all together.

Also interesting that DU is missing 12 players for illness/injury but doesn’t state if any of those absences are COVID related.

I know for a fact that coaches and players are not happy right now in the ivy across multiple sports.. Kids went there when many could have gone to places with a scholie.

There are some really pissed off coaches and some ADs taking some real heat from bug time donors over how this has been handled.
