Why is Dapples rated so low on 247 if he is an athletic freak? He looks good on tape.
wish I had the answer to this. I asked the same question.

maybe someone more informed can answer

There's very little thought put into the n on top guys to be honest. there's just too many folks to rank and they dont have many people.
looks fast and is advertised as being “good in coverage.”

i have a sneaking suspicion it will be his job to lose in October next to Antoine.

Pretty sure that’s his recruiting grade out of High School, not the portal. It doesn’t look like they’ve graded him as a transfer yet at least.

Tremble should be SAM this kid WLB. Totally different responsibilities in the 3-3-5
Yes but their base is 4-2-5. Unless tremble could be a safety type when in 4-2. Could come down in 3-3 or 4-3 also.

I wonder is Kehres is the type of coach that rigidly sticks to what he does or adapts his style to get who he sees as his best players on the field.

Yeah that’s a great question. Things that I don’t know is how is Tremble in coverage. He is really tall so can he cut and stay with people or is he a speed guy who can cover more ground like outside leverage and he just drops back into hook curl space. Bryant can spelll these guys to stay fresh.

I know he played some defense in HS but not sure what position, if it was at OLB or DE. But considering Tremble was an exceptional WR in HS, you would think he should be able to play pretty solid coverage as a LB. He should certainly have the athleticism to do it anyway. The skills and technique should be better developed now with a year under his belt.

Do we really know whether or not Tremble will go back to WR?

From November:

Syracuse, N.Y. — Three of Syracuse’s top young defensive players said they will return to the Orange in 2026 following Saturday’s season-ending loss to Boston College.

Freshman linebacker Antoine Deslauriers and sophomores Chris Peal and Jamie Tremble all confirmed their plans to return, giving the Orange more cornerstone pieces for next year’s defense.

“We’re trying to build a culture here,” Tremble told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard. “We’re trying to win.”

Those three, along with freshman cornerback Demetres Samuel Jr., were the four-best Syracuse defenders in 2024. Samuel will likely be a strong candidate to earn freshman All-America honors.

Tremble moved from tight end to strong-side linebacker to fill a desperate need for Syracuse.

Tremble said he’s open to staying on defense.

“Whatever the team needs, I’d be down to do,” Tremble said. “I think I really need to focus if that’s what I’m going to do next year. Just working on different technical stuff to better my craft and just be a better player next year.”

The two will be important for a linebackers room that Syracuse needs to solidify.
