They're both obviously amazing players and you can't go wrong with either. But all other things being equal, if you hypothetically had to choose, would you take LeQuint Allen or Sean Tucker as your starting college RB?

Am I the NFL or college?

This is tough, I voted LQA because he does a little of everything, has better balance, catches the ball better.

Tucker has all world speed, and great 1 cut ability.

I'll take LQA

Sean was extremely productive on awful teams come on he was an RB version of this years McCord. He was unlucky to dominate as a true Fr and SO and couldn't leave at his peak for the draft. Jr year wasn't great since he was hurt.

Next year's line should be better and we'll have a running QB or Kyle if he comes back we might see a statistically amazing year from him so the debate isn't finished at the moment.

LQA is a better blocker. That is about it. The talent level isn't even close.

Look at the year Tucker had in 2021. Everyone knew he was getting the ball and he still ran for 1500 in only 12 games. On top of that he had 20 catches on a team that never threw the ball.

Even the year after he had 36 catches in only 12 games played.

LQA had volume this year. It isn't like he was in the slot and going upfield, they were all swing passes. Tucker can easily catch those and then do more with it.

I love Sean Tucker as a pure running back but LeQuint Allan has a lot of Le’Veon Bell in his game. He’s also a great catcher out of the backfield, which is why I think he may stick in the NFL.

Allen has the heart of a lion

Allen was/is one helluva gamer. Think UNLV. That 4th and one where he was knocked back 2 yards, kept his feet and got the 1st…magnificent. Then the Mano v Mano goal line score against UNLV’s LB…studly.
He’s a very crafty and Swiss Army knife, kind of player.

Tucker would’ve flourished even more under Fran, I believe. It’s funny to think that Marlowe Wax and Sean Tucker both came in the same class and Tucker already has two years in the pros while Wax is just completing his career now.

Allen for me. I love his versatility. Got 1500 yards on a team with numerous other playmakers. Don’t know enough about evaluating skillsets to compare Allen & Tucker well enough to say so, but enjoyed LQA’s overall performance a lot this year. Allen is a significant blocker, receiver, and running back. He’s helped protect McCord all year, giving Kyle a bit more time to make a confident read & throw. I think our playmakers all blocked well and think they’ve been coached hard to participate in every play, whether they’re the ball carrier or clearing the way for him. Allen did a lot for this team.

I think in terms of overall skillset LQA is most like Antwon Bailey. Both could run, catch, and block. But I think Bailey was more talented. That isn't a knock on LQA. I like him a lot and I think he gets unfairly criticized by many here. I want him back next year, as he will be hard to replace. At the same time his numbers this year come from volume. I can't put him ahead of the 3rd best SU RB in the Carrier Dome era.

Allen…. Passing catching and his pass blocking, don’t get me wrong I really liked Tucker, but I think Allen is more complete.

I think Tucker’s less outstanding final season (seemingly due to injury) has shaped people’s perceptions of his career. The idea of adding a home run threat to this offense blows my mind. I am not sure if it would make up for what is lost in blocking and receiving, but I think it might.

Tucker is probably better, but I'd want LQAjr on my team, and if I need a guy to make one play that's the difference between winning and losing, that ball is going to LQAjr and God help the man trying to stop him in overtime.

I think Allen is a chain mover and Tucker is a HR hitter. It’s like comparing Barry Sanders vs Emmit Smith.

Emmitt got 3 yards ever play, Barry took a ton of negative plays, but then would go 75 yards for a score.

Allen is the best receiver I’ve seen out of the backfield in a long time.

It’s close, but I’m taking Allen.
