As many of you know, I'm a huge Sean Tucker fan. I casually monitor his NFL progress and continue to even wear his jersey to this day. But...

I'm picking Allen. LQA bleeds orange, I don't think I've ever seen a player play with as much heart as Allen. Tucker has great speed but Allen can make plays out of sheer tenacity, not to mention his pass catching skills as a safety valve.

They’re both completely different players. Man, could you imagine having BOTH of them on the same team?!
We could have at the Pinstripe Bowl.

Tough question. I love them both. But LaQuint stuck with us through the discipline hearing and appeal. In my book, because of his loyalty and dedication to SU, LaQuint wins.
100% agree with you, I like the way you think.

If you put a gun to my head, Tucker, but I might just let you pull the trigger.

LQA is a better blocker. That is about it. The talent level isn't even close.

Look at the year Tucker had in 2021. Everyone knew he was getting the ball and he still ran for 1500 in only 12 games. On top of that he had 20 catches on a team that never threw the ball.

Even the year after he had 36 catches in only 12 games played.

LQA had volume this year. It isn't like he was in the slot and going upfield, they were all swing passes. Tucker can easily catch those and then do more with it.

LQA because every time his radio commercial comes on I have to repeat “thank you new yerk” the rest of the night.

Two completely different players.
Both incredibly hard workers.

But for Syracuse NOT the NFL it has to be LA. Why? Because he was beyond clutch. He made multiple game winning plays. He was called the heart of the team by his head coach. He handled adversity came back stronger than ever and carried the team on his back when we needed him. Tucker is an amazing athlete who has also overcome an amazing personal challenge and is already an excellent NFL running back. But for Syracuse it's LA.

Allen all day every day. Maybe its bc of health or whatever ailed Tucker, it does not matter. You ever see LQA raising his hand to come out of the game?
Allen could take a gunshot to the shoulder and he would refuse to come out of the game.
Also feel Allen is a leader that makes his teammates better. I get Zaire Franklin vibes from Allen. In that once he gets his chance on an NFL team he will be viewed as uncuttable.

Hes got it and you cant let it go...
I loved Tucker but i wouldnt be ecstatic if he was my #2 RB on my NFL team. I wouldnt be disappointed either but Id be ecstatic if Allen was my #2.
I focused more on NFL than Syracuse but my thoughts stay the same.
Actually as a Syracuse RB I favor Allen even more. BC of his ability to lead his team coupled with his versatility.
Id put Allen in on all STs, Tucker just return.

From outside locker room looking in I think LQA provides more leadership. Tucker was just a naturally quiet, shy guy.
Lequint is out front as a vocal leader of his team.

I vote LQA

I posted the numbers earlier. The number of touches per game for the two were quite similar. Tucker raising his hand to come out was more about coaches subsitution strategy than it was about the players. Remember Tucker's junior year when people were begging for coaches to sub for him because everyone knew he was hurt? He still had 20 touches a game that year and was on field as a decoy many more.

Allen literally got kicked out of school and sued to get back in in order to get on the field and become our red zone TD bloodhound. I love Tucker, his is the only jersey I own, but Allen elevated himself and his team through word and deed. He will not be denied.

well if you put it like that!

They're both obviously amazing players and you can't go wrong with either. But all other things being equal, if you hypothetically had to choose, would you take LeQuint Allen or Sean Tucker as your starting college RB?

Tucker was a terrific running back, but nothing special as a pass receiver. His injuries limited his explosiveness his senior year. I'm glad to see him back to approaching his best , and making a living in the NFL, but I just think that Allen's pass catching ability and elusiveness in space sets him apart from Sean.

Tucker. Prime Tucker.

So many moments this year where we wanted LQA to bounce outside, but he sought contact. The early shoestring tackles.

Prime Tucker would have had 1,500 rushing & the same 500 receiving in this O.

That said, LQA is this years MVP. We don't win 10 games without him. He'll also finish higher on our favorite SU RBs list, if he returns.

It's an embarrassment of riches, really.

Tucker only had about 600 yards and 60 catches in 3 years.

Allen had those numbers last year alone. Yes, different offense, but it's not like Dino played meathead football.

Over 3 years, Allen did about 50% better than Tucker as a pass receiver out of the backfield.

Tucker didn't stay for his senior year.

Ok so Tucker raised his hand to come out so the coaches knew when to make the substitutions?
That is exactly what you said.
I get what you mean I think.
The way I remember it and what was well talked about on here was...Whats wrong with Tucker askîng to come out of the game frequently?
My memory isnt the best so..whatever...ill still take Allen all day.

Yes. The coaches did not use a substution pattern. They waited for Tucker to raise his hand when he needed a break. That's different than what this staff did. Allen was given breaks by design in order to keep him fresh for later in the game. This was done either by putting in a back up RB or through formations where there was no RB in the game. This staff also had more options on offense with Kyle and all the weapons he was able to distribute to.

If you prefer Allen, that's fine. He did some things better than Tucker just like Tucker did some things better than Allen. It's just annoying that people are pushing this idea that Tucker was soft or lazy based on how the coaches decided to substitute.

Tucker didn't stay for his senior year.

Sorry. They were both here 3 years. I did the 3 year stats comparison in another post.
