How many other catholic schools hired an AD who covered up rapes? Yea, try to make it about them being catholic to justify your own beliefs.

Just to clarify, there’s a significant amount of evidence that strongly supports the possibility that Bernie didn’t do anything wrong.

Keep in mind that “Bernie Fine” a person, not just a name.

If this was just about McCaw, Freeze, or Falwell I wouldn't have a problem scheduling Liberty. This is about how the school operates and what it teaches.

Syracuse University should not enter into a contract with an institution that would make a portion of SU's students, fans, and alumni feel unwelcome. This isn't simply a political objection, this is about ensuring that people are treated decently. How many of our LBGT friends that love SU and attend road games will skip this one because of where we are playing? To me, that is unacceptable. There are plenty of other schools out there that would agree to a 2 for 1 with us. No need to help this school.

See, I think it would be great if LGBTQ SU fans flood this game. We're their guests! Great opportunity that demands appropriate treatment of a certain level.

Yeah, I need to echo this.

Due to the *allegations* against Bernie Fine coming so soon in the wake of the Ped State scandal revelations, Syracuse quickly responded and terminated him.

However - not only was he NEVER CONVICTED OF ANY CRIMES, he was not even charged with any, as there was not sufficient evidence.

So, the least we as Syracuse fans can do, is stop perpetuating the myth that supposedly “Bernie Fine” was SU’s version of Sandusky.

It just was not remotely true.

You're right, I don't know what denomination they are. I could care less. You mentioned a catholic school. They are a trash school not because of politics or religion which some of you want to make it about. Its who their leadership is and the way they behave and talk. The president, the AD and the football coach. And like Ped St, I have my opinion that we should not be playing that kind of trash.

As a devout Christian, I'm horrified by everything Jerry Fallwell Jr. His views and actions are the worst representation of Christianity and I'm ashamed/angered that I get associated with him in people's minds if I mention that I'm a Christian. That said, it's a tricky issue on whether we should not play them because of JFJ's bigoted views-- mostly I just hope we humiliate them and run them off their own field next year.
