Lincoln Riley to USC

Oklahoma should offer Matt Campbell.
Don’t overthink it.
Good coach who knows the conference and would work well.
There moving to the sec soooooooo, o and they are going to get eaten alive in that conference lol.

He has 2 five star qbs that are already flipping to Usc that committed to OU. This is as much of a home run hire as there could be.

Agree an absolute home run hire. My son’s a freshmen at USC. He might get to see a National Championship team before he graduates.

Cuse!

He was starting the #1 rated freshman QB this year and had 2 five stars committed for next year? That's crazy.

But we beat Clemson once
There are a lot of division rivals that have neither beaten a top ten Clemson or had a ten win season in the past 20 years.

I’m not in the pro-keep Babers crowd, but diminishing his accomplishments is the weakest of sauces.

The best way to evaluate his time here is to see it all as it is without trying to score cheap points for message board “glory”

It’s also weak pounding the drum on that one win in a 6 year period. Makes us look like the loser program we are.

Malachi Nelson is ‘23. Just officially de-committed from OU. Not sure the other five star QB.

Also ran schools in the SEC are going to have to pony up LARGE $ to attract proven coaches. Great move for Riley but when one of the best in the biz says "I don''t want to go thru the SEC grind"....this sport gets more and more intriguing, and I truly wonder how and where we end up fitting in.

I’d be shocked if he doesn’t have USC in the CFP within 4 years. The big talent out in CA is going to be staying home and some maybe transferring back home. Then once they’re winning again the NIL opportunities are going to be substantial which will just juice the momentum even more.
The amount of money USC can offer dwarfs just about anyone else in the country, even Texas. The NIL opportunities probably can't be beat. It was theoretically the best job in college football before NIL. Now that they've finally move past the Carroll era, they'll be a regular CFP participant.

The SEC nut huggers saying he chickened out are hilarious.

It has to blow the minds of Oklahoma fans that there are bigger and better programs than theirs that can snap their fingers and rip away your coach from you.

Wow, Venables taking over at OU.

EDIT: Alright, I'm an idiot. Got this from a parody account.

I heard different on this, that as a private university they are not paying as much as the SEC and OSU and not spending as much on facilities and support staff. USC has actually fallen behind and is playing catchup on infrastructure for the football program

I would gather they aren't paying him alot per annum but are doing these on the margin gift bag add-ons to get him to a very high number. The jet plane, the 6mm home, are prob USC booster situations.

LA is just a cool place to have a ton of money and some cache. If Lincoln can pull a Pete Carroll he'll own that town. No one cares about the Chargers and the Rams are an Orange County fandom.

I'm just talking about LA and what it could offer. Imagine getting a photogenic QB leading USC to a CFP berth. They have the entire Hollywood industry right there that could make him a star, especially if a VP at William Morris is a booster. I don't think slides and ipads are going to cut it any more on that level of recruiting. UCLA and USC can offer what no one else can.

Well it might be a parody account but they guessed right on this one.
