People this is not 1980's or 1990's Colgate. Look at Belmont. They are now Belmont. Shooters, good passing and offense. Disciplined. Beat many power 5 teams and always compete in NCAA tourney. We are young and really rebuilding with some nice pieces. Gonna be fine in ACC this year

What you fail to understand is that all of these teams are better because they have guys who can shoot the three. And more than one of them. Which means, by definition, they can and will shred any zone defense with the level of players that JB can recruit in his twilight years.

Meanwhile JB doesn't have our guys ready on either side despite being more talented on paper.

Your last sentence is very wrong. FSU & Louisville appear to be complete garbage too, so that will help. But we will be far from fine, unless below .500 is "fine."

I think the point is that a program with our resources should never fall behind Belmont, Davidson, Colgate, etc., except by pure fluke every once in a while.

Colgate smoked us two years in a row. The Program appears to have fallen behind Colgate (and they don't have a Foyle or Curry). That's a massive institutional failure.

If we were a top 25 team and this happened once every few years, fine. However, it's gotten to the point where the Colgate game is now a "big game". If Colgate is lucky, they will be a 16 seed every few years. Let that sink in.

Year 9 of the decline.

But it's all good, nothing to see here.

Hopefully we’re done declining and have settled into irrelevance.

Have they beaten a lot of P5 teams other than us?

It would appear we are said can.
At this point, we are a very young team, like romper room young. Colgate is rising mid-major, an established program that wins their league and goes to the NCAAT every year and they shot as good as any team would be capable of.

Come on. This team is built around two seniors expected to provide the bulk of the offense, and the first guard off the bench is a senior.

I would consider "fine" in conference play winning somewhere around 2/3rds of our games, e.g. something like 13-7 or 14-6 in the conference. I think we will be scratching and clawing to go 8-12 or 9-11 per usual.

Also, let's not romanticize Colgate too much. After they blew our doors off last year they proceeded to lose to Harvard, Niagara, Northeastern, Monmouth, Vermont and Army in the following six weeks.

They will be a higher seed than SU
