that the two freshmen D.Ends who failed multiple drug tests before halfway through their true freshmen season.

I think Shafer lost control of this team from the Seniors on down. The seniors should have read the riot act to these two players after the first fail. How could these kids not know that there would be follow ups...mind boggling to think about that.Either they just didn't care or someone was telling them there would be no follow ups. If I failed a single drug test I would be gone before the next word would come out of my mouth. No second chances for me.

There was no commitment by these two and the next coach does not have to accept them back and now you have a former Q.B. that seems to be enjoying this mess for personal reason.

Our strongest o-lineman was a walk-on player this year which I am sure it's something that doesn't happen very often at a P5 school. To me one of the very most important piece of the puzzle to any successful D-1 is to have a solid S&C PROGRAM where the upperclass lineman have developed to the point to where there stomachs flatten out, instead it seems our lineman seem to be overlapping more and more as the years go on.

This trend has carried on and on as the coaching staff changes every few years. Villanova owned our line even while being out weighed by about 40 lb. across the line. There needs to be wholesale changes there too.

Truthfully I think there was a lot more turmoil going on behind the scenes than what's being said in public and I think Orgeron might have the cache' to clean this mess up as I really don't know much about the others involved.I never would have thought about Ed O as being a head coach here.

That's such crap. Yeah, two kids made dumb decisions and that's the coach's fault. It means he had no control over the team, because 2 kids out of 100 or so made dumb decisions.
never said it was the coach fault,i blamed the kids here.

You know a lot more than what you are posting as my info is pretty tight here.

My man, you mad?

Yikes... I don't think things are that bad. These are college kids (85 on scholly and another 25-30 as walk ons) and there are going to be a few that .

Shafer didn't lose the team, and again, what AJ Long likes to say. That kid went rogue and start acting like a coward on Twitter. Not a good look by him.

Fortunately, and unfortunately for them, is that there will be a new regime on campus soon.

Time to rejoice.

You used it as evidence that he "lost control of the team." I think that's a little absurd.

Especially since that was the first issue since his first year as HC.

Well, he also had issues with Ashton Broyld and Wayne Williams, but the fact that they were dismissed seems to at least partially refute the OP.

Kids who failed multiple drug tests with in the first few months of being on the team and during the season had no control or team commitment. These failed tests were not years apart.

I missed it, what did AJ Long say? I know he was pissed about being released from the team but what was his beef with Shafer?

How can you imply that this was the only one time incident. Not every failed test is reported to us.

Get a fn clue, lost control? Most teams dont even have a policy for marajuana. Sorry, that "drug" is right there with a coors light. Can't control what 18 year olds do in their dorm.

They made it twice...Some of the Seniors on this team needed to exhibit more positive leadership IMHO.

You can think what you want, those players earned their suspensions like the others who got the boot. The players here lost control and did not respect the other players and the staff. Twist all you want.

Coyle even said their was a leadership problem,go argue with him

Not liking the way this thread is headed. But time to air it out anyway. I respect all the posters here and their insights. Just don't like where it is headed.

Yeah, I know it sounds redundant...

There has been less reported issues than the past. Better?

I want UL or NCSt strength/condition coach @ Cuse... All their players seemed to have guns; us, only Brisly...
& Brisly chooses to hide his under those pop warner-esque oversized sleeves Oh Lord even though he has the arms of a Nike Pro Combat mannequin
