The fact that so many posters on here have posted after yesterday's loss and have given actual thought to what we did well and what we did not so well speaks volumes for where this program is now. If we had lost to Penn St. to open the season with Groobers as coach and even with Dougie, people would've been mildly upset. We have the opposite of that, critical thought and analysis, some seriously upset, some on the ledge, some just now off the ledge. BUT ---- NO One is ok with losing anymore. There is hope in this team to win every game. Not blind hope that soft fans have. Serious hope from fans who will have a good or bad week in their lives based on what this team does each week. That kind of hope can hurt when you lose, but its a hell of a lot better than not caring.
This team has a ways to go. Those coaches will go look at film and know just exactly how disorganized and not game ready the coaches were in getting plays in, calling the right play, and getting the players in a position to succeed. The players will look at film and get better. The O-Line will realize they've got to get blocking assignments down before the play starts and have to play as a cohesive unit for anything to happen. Drew Allen will realize he made mistakes in feeling or not feeling the pressure and another week will help him with timing immeasurably. The front 7 did great in run stop and needs to get in there a little quicker on pass plays. The secondary will realize the secondary was basically missing in this game and has to do better with all the experience and skill those guys have.
Love the fact that we have an expectation now that we are going to at least play well and hopefully win games!
