Love this kid, give him a raise

Pretty sure he's talking about the SUA app. Pretty sweet, I download the bball and football schedules to my iPhone calendar off of it. You can also see full rosters, stats, etc. Great for in-game use during football games for the jersey numbers.

I thought they were referring to some kind of video/app where they were giving virtual tours/pictures of campus/facilities etc since I saw some twitter chatter the other day how some virtual tour was such a big hit on an in home visit but who knows. Obviously if it was just a video then they wouldn't refer to it as an app, but maybe it is some kind of recruiting app that they put together.

It very well could be. They did have a special website set up for recruits and family when HCDM was on the hill.

Oh I gotcha. I'm not familiar with that then.

its an app developed by Overtime Software (otscout.com). Sounds like they are developing it and isn't available.

I think y'all might be talking about when Zach Allen was being recruited they used Skype to do a virtual tour for him before he was able to visit campus. Professionally speaking Skype is a great recruiting tool.

@dialcole13 @EricWhiteCuse AWESOME JOB WITH 2014 recruiting class! We made our team stronger & better today!! Deep breath then on to 2015...

Unreal job by these guys.

What is his background? Is he from SU?

Kansas farm boy.

Eric White joined the Syracuse football program as the director of recruiting operations in March 2013. Head coach Scott Shafer hired the 2012 graduate of the University of Kansas to coordinate the program's recruiting efforts. White worked as an Assistant Director of Recruting at the University of Arkansas and the University of Wisconsin prior to SU.

Ashh so he has no ties to SU. Hopefully we can keep him here for a while.

Pantoni talks value of social media

Social media has changed how coaches interact with recruits. In some cases, it’s the most important form of communication.

As Ohio State director of player personnel, Mark Pantoni is constantly communicating with recruits. After the announcement of Ohio State’s recruiting class on Signing Day, Pantoni spoke with reporters and explained how important social media is.

“It’s an everyday deal,” he said. “That’s the best way of communicating with kids these days. A lot of kids hate talking on the phone, as we get to learn. It’s easier for them to talk on social media. You have to use it and be good at it.”

Also look the recruits/commits, they had group messaging sessions with each other. What a great tool for recruiting and enabling these kids to bind before they get on campus.

Not to mention the info we are able to obtain about offers, commits, how a kid might be leaning, etc.

Butch Jones: 'The biggest change in recruiting'

“So many of these relationships in a recruiting class are built at an early age with all the different camps throughout the country,” Jones said. “They really start to build relationships. I think that’s the biggest different in recruiting. No matter what part of the country you’re from, you develop these relationships with these individuals because of the amount of camps they go to and Facebook and Twitter and all the social media things these individuals can do to build relationships.
