Hello all. I come in peace! It's over a year away but I'm already getting excited about making the trip up to Syracuse next football season. I'm basically just looking for any tips you guys can provide to make our trip more enjoyable. There's a good chance we are going to make a week long trip either on the front end or back end of the game weekend. So I'm just looking for advice on things like:

Hotels to stay
Restaurants to eat at
Things to do during the week leading up to or after the game. Either in Syracuse or within a couple of hours.
Do I need to rent a car? How's public transportation in the area?

Basically any advice you can give.

Thanks and good luck to you guys this season!

Is there a link to TexanMark's SU visitor's guide?

What they said. Welcome in advance and go easy on us!!

When it comes to travel and tailgating - PM TexanMark he's the gold standard on this board.
Look forward to your visit.

you can also check out destiny usa mall while your up here which has fun stuff to do

Going to a mall for a quasi-vacation?? That must be some mall, lol!

before coming to the game for tailgating since it will be a late start 330 or night.

Seneca lake wineries you'll never want to leave

If you are a wine person in any way, this is a must. Seneca lake isn't exactly around the Dome but well worth it, and there's about a billion wineries so the tours are certainly worth it.

Agreed. Personally, I am a huge fan of Hermann-Wiemer, Billsboro, Red Tail Ridge, and Anthony Road.

A lot of Clemson fans came up last year and I recall a lot of them saying they started the week at Niagra Falls, and then headed to Cooperstown. If your a baseball fan that's a must. If not the wineries are exceptional. You can't go wrong. Depending on the date the scenery should be beautiful.

Apple picking can be fun if you have kids; just pick one that has hard cider...

Cozy up to JeremyCuse and get invited to the Fine Mess Tailgate.

If you are into hiking, then the ADK's are a must. (If you will be here a week) Fall foliage is optimum late September early October.

The Adirondacks are the best and should definitely be considered, but we were at camp two weeks ago and the leaves were already changing. May not be the best year for leafers.

Yeah I was shocked at how much color there was when I was up there the weekend before labor day weekend.

Maybe because it was kind of a cool summer around here? Interesting.
