Lunardi’s Monday bracket

Is Clemson really a play-in game team? Feels like we are better than that.
You have only one Q1 win (sorry :) ), 7-12 Q1+Q2 wins. Not a great OOC SOS (110), and overall SOS of 33, and 4-6 on the road. If SU is a 9, 11 or 12 (maybe 10) sounds about right for Clemson. I think you're in, but lose to State on Wednesday and it could be nail-biting time.

I think some people confuse "Syracuse is getting in" with "Syracuse is good".
Who are those people? Can we have a show of hands?

I don’t recall anyone here thinking this is a good team. Maybe on paper before the season started. That’s it.

Every single loss I see a million "bubble time" or "NIT" posts as if our performance has somehow strengthened resumes around the bubble.

Jimmy Dykes predicted SU to win the national title.

Your best win is at home against VaTech without Justin Robinson. I can’t figure out how Clemson’s metrics are so favorable. They haven’t beaten anyone all year. They have no business getting in.

Exactly! The point is that no one thinks Syracuse is good so some infer that they can't possibly be safely in the tournament.

Nine of the ESPN columnists and commentators had SU in the Final Four. Shows how much they've disappointed this season. There's a week plus left of basketball depending on how things unfold for them beginning Wednesday.

sometimes it seems like we don't even really call any plays on offense anymore it just seems like they're out there having a pickup game or it's just all day ISO one after another every possession!I don't understand why or what the he'll is goin on. Does anyone have any Insight on that or what type of offense do we even run anymore??

NCAA developed NET rankings to help the mid majors. My guess is you will see several mid majors like Belmont and Lipscomb who lost in their conference tourney get in and some middling P5's (like Ohio State) left out.
This isn’t true.

Thank you so much very weak bubble and small conference teams that no one cares about.

9 double digit losses and we're safely in. Possibly with a single digit seed. What a country.

I would guess 4 last second losses to Quad 1 teams helps...

It shows how stupid it is to base 3 games as a predictor of next year's success instead of the whole body of work.

Which brings up an interesting question - we know there is a MOV component to the NET. Is there a MOL component? I rather doubt it, but I have no idea. jncuse ?

Net efficiency is the second highest of the five factors in the formula. So that would mean that margin of loss would matter, because efficiency itself is not based on W/L.

That being said factors 3 and 4 are about winning % so that brings in the W/L.

The fifth, and least important factor is totally confusing.. it basically limits margin of victory to 10. So I guess it partially impacts the second factor which encourages running up the score.

We're better than Joey Bracket's ridiculous Morrie cat...

in essence counting margin of victory twice, right? No wonder there are teams that have a high net and piss poor other metrics.

I miss the old days. Do you think we are in regardless of the game against NC State or no?
