Chan's tearing it up in camp right now. Don't expect him to bust.

But MPB is going to have to be a very important player for our defense. If he's not we might struggle.

If Jones is tearing it up, I can't wait to see what the Bills DLine will do to that Light-less *Pats OLine.

tearing it up against the Saints

Not sure about "tearing it up," because according to this boston.com reporter, he struggled. But I like Chandler a lot and despite my hatred for the Patsies I hope he does well and leaves Foxboro asap. Due to his size and being a late bloomer, he might be one of those very rare breeds who is a better fit at the NFL level than in college.

The fact that we have many new players that we are excited about speaks volumes for the job the staff is doing. They have turned over every rock out there to find overlooked talent. We have over 90 players in practice an many opportunities for positive surprises.

This season's record might be hard to forecast but I have a feeling we are going to see substantially more excitement and better football.

Agreed. This is not meant as a dig at GRob's recruiting, because I actually think he was a pretty decent recruiter for the most part, but I feel like the speed / talent / athleticism / size on the roster has improved immensely since Marrone took over. With a few exceptions [OL, WR, QB until proven otherwise], every other positional unit has been significantly upgraded.

No one leaves Foxborough unless they aren't good enough.

LOL. Okay, buddy. You sound just like a *Pats fan.
I am a Pats fan, but who was the last player to leave New England and put up better numbers? Also, for those that care, Chan has drawn at least 3 holding penalties tonight and has made several tackles. Steve Gregory has a pick as well.

You could say that about every NFL team. The system is designed to allow teams to retain their best players, and if a player leaves that means the team doesn't value him as much, hence "not good enough."

Regardless, I do know that Branch didn't originally leave Foxboro because he "wasn't good enough." And Seymour has been pretty dominant since being traded. Those are just two off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more.

I'm happy for Jones. Just wish we could have gotten more production out of him while he was at Syracuse.

Branch was very average in Seattle. He was traded because Seattle was stupid enough to overpay for him.

Can't wait to see Jones this season if he keeps playing like that.
