Marlowe Wax Injury

I think broken tibia. They were pushing on that part of his leg and he was in a lot of pain.
I tend to think something in this direction - watching the video it wasn’t obvious and for someone to be in that much pain I figured it was something flukey.

This is what I believe. He stopped just before he went in for the sack. And then couldn’t put any weight on that foot. He had the same reaction most do when they tear Achilles.
I can attest. Tore mine playing bball and it is a LONG recovery. Hope it’s not.

Hate to speculate but seeing him in the boot on crutches on the sideline implies it’s likely ankle, foot or achilles injury

It looked like the injured leg swung and hit another players leg in be tibia. If we take Coach at his word, I think it’s a hairline fracture of the tibia. Recovery time CAN be 3-4 weeks, though that’s best case scenario.

I don’t think it is an Achilles injury. A doctor could determine that immediately on the sidelines just feeling his leg. There is no real need for later tests to diagnose a torn achilles.

Is this something a grass surface could’ve avoided?

Would he be able to take a medical redshirt and come back if it's a season-ender? Or has that train left the station for him?

2020: Covid pass
2021: Played 12 games
2022: Played 13 games
2023: Played 13 games

If he takes a redshirt in 2024, he has eligibility for 2025.

I know he was thinking about the NFL after this season, but depending on how bad the injury is, he might have to do an "OG" and come back.

I personally can’t speculate on the injury. I don’t think I’ve ever used the phrase, “why can’t we have nice things?” before, but I said it out loud last night as I watched Wax get hurt. It’s another stunner like OG was last year. I was looking forward to watching him play this year and it has a big impact on our team. Just so depressing. The kid must feel awful.

If it plays out like this, it will be heartbreaking for Marlowe, but a positive for next year's team to have his leadership in year 2 of Fran's tenure when the honeymoon season is over.

Agree and most are up to a year, it's a shame on how long those take to heal. I've seen my share of others playing ball as well with those, it's sad when it happens.

Just about the worst person to be injured behind Kyle we could have had especially with the way the Defense played yesterday.

I am thinking it is just a result of early onset monkeypox. I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express but I have seen multiple episodes of Grey’s Anatomy!
Oh no! Monkeypox of the shin is the worst kind.
