Marvin Harrison and Dwight Freeney on CFB Hall of Fame Ballot

I feel bad for young SU fans now too. I was spoiled watching the SU teams of the 80’s and 90’s as a kid. I often wonder if I would be an SU sports maniac if I was a kid the last 10 years. I’d like to think so but I doubt it. At least not to the extent I was.
I started going to Archibold Stadium in the early 70’s and still ended up a crazy Cuse fan.
Yeah, you would of still caught the bug.

LT was not a DE and not on that list
Yeah I know he wasn't a DE ... saw Taylor and checked out ... precursory glance cost me on that one. Read it too fast and glanced over Jason Taylor :)

I would still prefer Freeney, but what a freak of nature Julius Peppers is/was. Four career pick sixes as a 300 lb defensive end, and also had a 20/10 game as a basketball player in the NCAA Tournament.
Impressive yes. 300 LBs? No

Wikipedia has him at 6’7 295.
OK. His pro playing weight that I saw was 287. Doubt he was that heavy as a two sport athlete in college. No big deal, just trying to add some perspective to the impressive stats you mentioned. UNC’s basketball roster has him listed as 270

A guy that big could easily get to 300.

I mean, Joe Girard can get to 300.

My 1st game was in 1971. Saw a lot of bad football in a lot of bad weather.

Still here.

I started following the Orange in 1961, Ernie's senior years. Sine then we are 358-327-6 (.522). It's been worth it to stick out the 327 to get to the 358.

If anyone else wants to compete 'their' winning percent age since they been following the Orange, use this link:

290-292-6.

I'm below the Mendoza Line :(

Cool link. I went with 1985 since the Cherry Bowl is my first real memory. I'm 228-201 so 27 games over 500.

I think Freeney is the stronger candidate here. I think anyone who follows college football understands he was the best defensive player in the country (arguably the best period) his senior season. He led the country in TFL and just completely dominated every game Syracuse played all season long. He was really good before that and an unbelievable player as a senior.

I will also say that it makes no sense having Morten Andersen on the ballot and not Gary Anderson.

Anderson made over 75% of his FG attempts in college. He never missed a PAT. Andersen made 62.5% of his FG attempts and missed 4 PATs. Plus Anderson led the country in FG accuracy as a senior. Andersen never did that. Was never close.

Gary also deserves to be in the NFL HOF.
i dont think Gary will ever be eligible for the College HOF.

NFL is a different story.

285-287-5 (.498)
Disappointed to have fallen back below .500.
I started in 1972 and it was a long time before I got there.
These last 6 years have been putrid (32-53).
