McCord

To sum it up, lets say he makes $2m in NIL next year and signs an NFL contract for $12M in 2026...That's $14M opposed to the avg of $4.8M if he gets drafted between rounds 4-7 this season. The $2M and $12M are both conservative but that is still leaving approx $10M on the table by going early.

But with this year's QB class he could easily be a 3rd.

He could also come back and get injured or play himself out of a draft pick so that $12m is out of the equation right away.

If you could have 12m or 2m now what would you choose?

An insurance policy:)

More than double 1.2 million in NIL? That doesn’t seem likely.

Also it’s a big assumption to say he would likely be a second rounder next year. Sure it could happen, but it’s a big assumption to say he is leaving 10 million on the table.

Also consider if he goes pro now he is a year closer to getting his second contract.
His NIL likely will be between $2-$3M. The avg for QB is over $3M in power 4 (because some are making $5-6m). That $12m is an avg for rounds 2-3. $10m is being conservative

This is only available to underclassmen so Kyle won’t get one. But he may get feedback elsewhere.

I wonder if Lequint heard back on his grade before he decided yesterday.

Personal take:

1. Kyle Goes to the NFL if he is getting NFL feedback that he is in serious contention to compete for a QB1 job. Not saying he's drafted to be the guy but are there teams out there that are even considering him as the guy

2. Kyle Stays if he gets the waiver AND the NFL feedback he is getting is that he is not a serious contender for a starting QB1 position.

I do not think the money difference matters to him as with both gigs he's going to be well paid.

I also think that he does not want to be some practice squad guy or a QB2 that is just being picked up late in the draft to sit behind a starter that's not going anywhere. That option would be there for him in 2026 wort case anyway.

Now who on this board has access to NFL Scouts. I think that's what we'll be waiting on.
I don’t know if he would get an evaluation like that, as starting would depend on the team he is on.
The evaluation would be what possible round he could be drafted in and maybe long term projections.

Here’s a picture of my boo to help us.

I said it in the LQA thread, but I think lequint leaving hurts McCords chances of returning should he be granted a 5th year. Losing OG and his RB, it’s more than just on field production though. You could tell Kyle and lequint were buds as both were warriors for us
