McCord

Bottom line is if this is all true, he still has a tough decision to make. Put yourselves in his shoes. When he started at Ohio St. he probably thought he would be going to the league at this point. I know some in his family are pushing for him to go to the NFL. But I also saw him in San Diego and he loves this team,, the players, the coach and the program. Does another year really help him, or is this his moment to move on? If I were him, I would not be able to sleep at night. I assume there is a lot of talking going on with NFL scouts and coaches to get a better feel. A good backup spot can lead to big things. He also knows our schedule for next season, and will he be able to shine as much? So much to think about for a young man and his entire future

If you missed
@FranBrownCuse on ACC Access today - be careful reading headlines or tweets that only pick a short clip of what he said. What he said was this- He firmly believes Kyle is a top 5 QB in this class but for some reason people in the NFL DO NOT see it that way. He also said he thinks Kyle is ready to play in the NFL. He followed that up by saying he wants Kyle back and wants what’s best for him. It’s a tough decision. He then made it clear that coming back to
@CuseFootball would be great for Kyle, his family, his future, the team and the fan base. Closing out saying he’s been around football just as long as many GMs and they are looking for the next Lamar Jackson, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb and those players aren’t out there. He said @kylemccord16 is special! He expects a decision this week and if I had to bet on what Fran thinks- it sure as hell sounded like he believes Kyle will be back!
Great recap. My (hopeful) takeaway. Kyle and Fran seem to be wired the same way. Have that competitive chip on their shoulder and out there to prove everyone wrong.

After all, Kyle came to Cuse to play for a first time unproven coach. He believed in himself and what he could accomplish here.

The next hurdle is NFL success. Would he rather prove everyone wrong by starting as a backup and winning the job. Or coming back and playing himself into the first round

It’s a tough call as people mentioned, but think the personal motivation is more important than the exact dollar amount. When you believe in yourself you think differently. Kyle probably sees himself as a NFL starter getting $40-50mm/year one day, and that’s a great thing

I wonder what his agent is advising him. Most get a percentage of NIL deals. That’s the person who might have the most to gain by Kyle coming back.
Yea. Thats guaranteed money now too for NIL.

Banking on what some of these NFL GMs are gonna do down the road on draft day is gonna be a nightmare. Especially trying to guess what they might do in those middle rounds.

Speaking as a Giants fan I’m not sure that front office has any idea whats going on.

How long do I have to watch this inside access before Fran

What a great choice to have. The NIL route is guaranteed money which is a huge plus. The downside is a potential injury which to a certain extent can be covered with insurance. Kyle will be facing an absolute guantlet next season which can go two ways. However the scouts will take all of that into consideration. If he goes now and doesn't get drafted into the right situation his risk is significant.
Lets say he comes back and worst case he has a tough year. He is most likely still in roughly the same spot as going into the draft this year. Worst case he gets into a camp as an undrafted free agent with his NIL money in the bank.
If However he plays well against the tough schedule he will move up to possibly a round 2 or 3 pick.
It's a tough call I'm sure he is torn.

This QB class is considerably weaker than next year’s supposedly. Has to figure into it.

Piggybacking of the competitive mindset of both Fran and Kyle, I don’t think for one second the schedule next year has any negative impact on his decision. I’ve researched his draft projections pretty extensively and it seems round 4 is his ceiling at this point. Part of a competitor wants to take the opportunity and prove himself. The alternative with the NIL package he will get allows him to prove himself but in a different stage. If Kyle comes back, Syracuse is almost guaranteed a visit from College Gameday, he will be a heisman candidate, and when Fran adds a couple finish pieces to the roster, they will compete for a spot in the CFP. I think those opportunities will are more than being a 4th rd pick at this current moment.

My sources are corroborating that the waiver was approved. Of course my sources are you idiots in this board

Thank you for giving me something to dream about tonight.

Good post. Also how much better can Fran Kyle and Nixon get with another year. I believe we have enough studs at WR. I'd like to see us add some depth at OL and an impact player on D. Other than that I feel as if we can compete next season.

So help me if I can’t find some parking cuz Gameday is in town I’m going to send Kyle and Fran a strongly worded letter.

Maybe he can even convince lequint yo come back. I doubt it but never know

That doesn’t change his grade, guys aren’t going to reach for a player that is going to be a back up at best. He’s killed the Honda McCord stuff where he was undraftable. But he still has areas of improvement. Can he do that better here as a starter or in the league as a backup along with another year of high end private coaching.
