MCW not happy with PT

I haven't seen it discussed here so maybe I imagined it, but JB said in the post game press conference at PC that Carter-Williams was not happy about his playing time (no minutes in the second half after a nice first half). He went on to question himself about how he utilized MCW in the game.

I would say these are significant statements because

1. It's the first public whisper of someone not being happy, and it came from the last guy I'd expect it to,

2. I have never in my life heard JB discuss things like this in a PC (a player's feelings about PT) AND I never in a million eons would expect him to actually question his own decision making about PT in a post game press conference.

Am I the only one that heard this?

Yeah he said something about MCW being irked. I wouldn't pay to much attention. It almost sounded like JB was questioning himself why he's not playing more.

He said it but I don't take it that way and JB said he wants MCW to be upset so he can't be concerned at all that it is something problematic. Kid is going to be a stud. Everyone knows it. I'm sure he'd like to learn on the job but he practices against the guys ahead of him and sees them playing great in games so what can he truly complain about.

MCW was playing near his home turf, and had a good first half. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't happy about not getting minutes in the second half.

JB probably should have gotten him some time later in the game. JB's been good with splitting minutes this year. Nobody's perfect.

I really didn't know what to expect, to be honest. I guess I had no idea that Waiters would be this good. That's probably the major reason.

There is a huge difference between wanting more playing time and being a malcontent. MCW will get all the time he wants before he knows it.

If it was a serious issue with a player no way JB would have aired it in the press. MCW wanting to play more minutes does not mean he's unhappy. I'm sure he understands with the players who are in front of him. He hasnt seemed like the p*ss and moan/temper tantrum type of kid in any regard so far.

If im Boehiem and MCW or Rak (which would be the to players who you would most think be unhappy with pt at times) Listen you are playing on the #1 ranked team in the nation were undefeated and have a great shot to go to the Final 4 and win the whole thing. Be patient and enjoy the ride

Your Freshmen who were All Americans and who time will increase over the coming years as guys graduate or leave early for the draft (hopefully not) but you have if you want 3 more years after this with teams that are going to be very good as we are in the Golden Age of cuse basketball. So dont worry and be ready when your time comes this year

Good post OttoMets and the right statement...MCW was not upset...JB said it is good for a player to want more time...and Katz's comment that JB want MCW to be irked...very different than MCW being a malcontent...no way is thread accurate supposing a problem

If anyone is getting worked up about this, don't. JB is basically saying he wants to keep the fire lit under MCW, so that he'll bust his ass and take more playing time. That's the driving point here: you aren't given playing time, you earn it, and he wants MCW working hard to earn it.
