Meathead Football

I agree. Its a chess match. I just think everyone runs spread because it allows you to still run the ball against bigger stronger D lines. Plus your OLB's can't just sit in the box and play run. They have to cover slot's and TE's. Allows you to take advantage of 1v1 match ups from the outside Wr or the slot position. Teams like LSU and Bama that were traditional power run teams have gone to it so they can keep up with scoring. Their defenses can't stop them like they use to. Offensive coordinators are getting more and more creative.

Hmmm...sounds just like...the freeze option!

Sorry meant for the Orangefizz post.

Not what Hough could do. Again if nobody is doing it, would that be an advantage? Imagine dealing with both Hough and Tucker while covering Harris and Queeley on the outside and Hackett or Benson over the middle - and haivng a QB who could run it himself!
Sounds good. I wouldn’t mind seeing some of that. Can our lineman move people? It would be harder with a extra defender or two in the box.

It's like faking the hand-off to Zonk, double pump to Bulicz or Coughlin in the slot doing a 180 and passing to a flared out Little or keeping.

Football is cyclical. The option comes ,goes and comes back. So does the middle guard/nose tackle. The Wildcat is single wing football. If nobody runs it, the defense won't be prepared for it. And it fits our personnel.
It is, but, when things come back around, it's always in a different form.

Minimal understanding of spread offense and way too much familiarity with meathead football leads to some opinions that are probably biased, IMO

Or not.
