Autry(coach), Brisset, Moyer and Marek( bring a couple walk ones or team managers). Lock the door. Do nothing but take 14-18 foot jumpers for 10 hours straight with one of the guys guarding you giving you a 4-5 foot cushion( which simulates a game situation perfectly). Take a shower. Get on the plane to Virginia.

I don't think Moyer is allowed to shoot a jumper or he goes straight to the bench. Only lay-ups, dunks, or put backs on the offensive end for him.
100% correct. I don't know how you put a kid on the floor ,handcuff him completely and expect him to produce for you. I'm not talking about him jacking up 3's left and right, but you have to have freedom to shoot an open mid-range shot or you just can't be on the floor. The poor kid spends 10 seconds of the shot clock thinking about what to do with the ball when he has it in his hands instead of just playing.

Great post.

Awww, poor kid. Coach wants him to play a role.

Give me a break.

Another way to word it is ND realized that certain kids suck at certain things and that SU has two players that can put the ball in the hole.
Maybe. Briz shot well in HS, Moyer was the Ohio player of the year, Did Frank all of a sudden become a better shooter this year because his mechanics improved or might it be because he isnt being constantly berated by his coach. Jims way doesn't always work and like it or not todays kids are a different breed one that in my opinion respond better to positive motivation than fear motivation. Moyer and Euro look paralyzed on the court. Maybe they just dont have it or maybe they are being "franked" this year.

I think Frank became a better shooter because he’s now an experienced junior that has improved his game and skills over the years. Not just about mechanics, but that’s probably part of it.

I’m betting if Moyer shot the ball well in practice, he’d have more of a green light.

Lots of our young players in the past with talent, couldn’t put the ball in the hole effectively until they were later in their careers. That’s just normal development for most of the kids we get and have always gotten.

Also, ND apparently knew that if they implored their will on SU, that they would break down (see rebounded stats and last play of game).

But the coach is a hall of famer. He doesn’t make mistakes. We are just to dumb to understand. Basketball is very sophisticated...only he truly understands. We should just all bow to his greatness.

Moyer was a PF in high school. He did all his damage in the paint.

He was never an outside shooting specialist.

Great analysis. Everybody play your roll for 28 seconds and then we'll jack up a bad shot at the buzzer because only two of us are allowed to shoot. Well thought out.

Not what I said at all. There’s a lot more to the game than shooting, on both ends. Moyer didn’t do much well the last couple games.

And I don’t think the solution to our offensive woes is to have bad shooters put up more shots that they can’t make.

Yeah! Multiple section 3 coaches that could do a better job, amiright!!?

Good thing there are options to get the ball to him in the paint when the last second mid range floaters into a double team are surprisingly not falling.

You had me thinking this was a first hand report until the shower part. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Mike Brey in his press conference described it best. We have two players on the court who offensively don't do much and can be helped off of consistently. Have to play off of Brissett and limit him getting to the basket and and off the offensive boards. The only time Moyer, Chukwu, or Marek score is off offensive rebounds or a Frank pass once the help defense comes to him. These 3 guys shouldn't need a coach to explain to them to find an open area once our guards penetrate.

Tyler Roberson treatment. Did wonders for his development.
