Miami Post Game

Cleveland came in to this game as one of the hottest players in the country, certainly in the ACC. It seemed pretty apparent going in that we should do everything we can to stop Cleveland and make somebody else beat us. Even after Cleveland toasted Taylor in the first half I’m not aware that we made any adjustment whatsoever in the second and predictably, he finished with 32. Just mind-boggling.

It's not like that was all bad defense. That kid is talented, and there were times during the game that we defended about as well as you can without fouling, and they simply made tough shots. Happens sometimes.

I had a feeling Bethea would go off tonight. I’ve watched Miami 6-7 times this year and Bethea was a total non factor. He scored tonight, but his handle and decision making are still very suspect.

Watching how many new things he has tried in the last few games made me ask myself, why does it take him until February to install a whole system? These last couple games have been better, honestly. He realizes he's coaching for his life, and has to try some different things. People will give him the benefit of the doubt one more time in the media. You can hear that people want him to be successful. I just hope he can do it.

Like all the hope should have left the building today. A loss to a 1-11 awful Miami team. This Syracuse team is just a truly terrible coached basketball team. It will not get better no matter what anyone says next year.

Literally the only player who had been doing anything for them at all this season. The problem is we don’t have one above average defender so the point is moot.

Game plan to take him away? I forgot we don't game plan just roll the ball out and play.

Who’s going to guard him? They shot 50% from three without doubling him. What’s your solution?

The worst thing about this type of loss, if year 3 is as guaranteed as some say, it virtually doesn't matter.

He'll either win next year, or he won't, but if he's being given year 3, this doesn't matter. And it should.

I missed the game. What in gods name happened? How did we lose to Miami?

Well, honestly, he's been doing that to literally everybody he's played for the last month.

Matador defense at its best! Ole!

While that’s true we made the other guys look better than they have all year. Kidd is the only other regular that averaged double figures on the season coming into the game.
