The reaction to the hire at the WWL is one of confusion and “guess we’ll wait and see”. Certainly not feeling like a HR.

His dad, Brendan, was our assistant coach from ‘78-84. Left to be head coach at URI.

Was a great guy.

Tbh. If I was a UNC fan. I wouldn’t love this hire with the candidates that they were reportedly going after….is it a bad hire? No. Is it a great hire? Also no. It’ll be interesting to see how Malone adopts to the college game and recruiting. If I’m being honest, like someone said earlier, I can see this being Mike Woodson 2.0. UNC fans have even less patience than us Cuse fans. If you told me Malone was out after year 3. I wouldn’t be shocked

SU AD BB says coaching ability was key pre NIL but not as much any longer.

UNC’s AD apparently has a very different viewpoint.

Malone has no experience dealing with a very foreign job. Very similar feeling about this hire as Belchek. Good luck to him.

Yawn…..i loathe the nba. If people like it then have at it. I will be watching the nhl playoffs which is way more exciting

100% with you on that... NBA playoffs are better than reg season (for sure), but that is not saying much.

NHL playoffs far superior IMO, and a much better watch.
