Might cut the cord

I added a similar box to my lineup just to have for prime and Netflix games. I have internet, YTTV, and Kodi. In addition I buy a VPN for 4 dollars a month and real debris service for about 5 dollars a month. Essentially I am paying 10 dollars a month to have every movie/show at my disposal instead of having Hulu, prime, etc.

YTTV is becoming very expensive, but at this time I can’t justify leaving it because the quality is top notch, freee DVR and the convenience factor of bringing it anywhere I go.

Internet I pay 35 (Verizon 5g), YTTV 95, vpn & debrid 10

All in, 145 for up to 20 devices in my house

Yeah, I'm with you. The DVR on YTTV is really good. If I wasn't a sports fan, I'd go without it though and my monthly bill would be about 3 bucks. While you can watch live tv and sports through kodi/stremio, I find it cumbersome compared to YTTV (esp if I want to watch it recorded). For all other programming, kodi/stremio does the trick.

YTTV just raised their price 10$/month to 83$. Now they are in a dispute with Paramount and are going to drop CBS and CBS sports along with a handful of other channels. At at my wits end with them. Please give recommendations for a viable alternative where I don’t miss a lot of SU sports

Youtube TV and Paramount will probably work things out eventually. In the meantime, YTTV is apparently providing an $8 credit to subscribers, and you can sign up for Paramount+ for $7.99 per month (search around any you may be able to find a better deal).
Not many SU sports end up on any of the Paramount networks anyway, do they?
Maybe the NCAA tourney games, but I don't think we need to worry about those this year (sadly).

They will only pay the credit in the case of a “lengthy “ dispute

I was pretty sure they'd work something out. It seems the networks and carriers (Cable or streaming) get into these p***ing contests all the time and they always seem to work it out when push comes to shove.

that would really suck. Its one thing to change channels. quite another to change apps when you switch games
I just canceled Netflix. And, I could give a crap about the NFL being on there. Amazon Has Thursday night.. How many seaming options are we going to need?

Every year it has gotten worse, and I can't imagine going forward that it will be better. Not sure there is an easy answer.

Yeah, that will stink if I can't watch the CBS/Fox games at the same time vie the multi-game view in Youtube TV.

Netlfix just said a few weeks ago that it wanted to stick to one-off events like what it did for Christmas. I wonder what changed. Obviously they want revenue and they have money to burn, but running a few games every week would require quite an investment on their end. And the other networks aren't going to give up the upper-echelon inventory without a fight.

I'm ready to drop Spectrum and had my mind made up going to YTTV. Except I just realized you don't get YES or MSG on YTTV. My next option would probably be HULU. But that seems to be the same story. Checked out FUBO. Seems like they are more sports oriented but doesn't have HGTV, TNT, TBS, which are networks popular in our household.

So assuming the above info is correct, any idea what I can subscribe to that gets all the local channels include FOX, YES, MSG, HGTV, TNT, TBS, and the Golf Channel.

Not sure about yes, hgtv, and golf channel. But directv stream deffinetly has MSG. Only Directv and Fubu have MSG from research I did last year.

YES is a tough one, you can subscribe separately for that.

Last I checked, I couldn't get my local FOX channel on direct TV, so no Giants games on Sunday.

I don't watch the yankees anymore because of it.

I bet I am not alone.

Hal and the boys seem to be ok with it but is silly.

Meanwhile Cole out for the year with Tommy John surgery and Stanton already out injured again.
Agreed, if it was $10 I would do it all day long

yep.

I think it's as simple as a bunch of old guys stuck in the past saying... "streaming?? who cares?? charge whatever we want for it... only the cable and dish package contracts matter."

i.e. they have no clue

I had Yes on YTTV for almost 2 years before they jacked the streaming prices to the moon.

YTTV dropped them immediately like a bad habit.

Funny thing is that I put it on every night and it's really just background noise. Baseball is too slow for me to actually sit and watch it. I guess I can now do the same thing with Suzyn and Dave Sims. I've never been a Michael Kay fan anyways.
