Mike Hopkins: Next Siena HC?

I don't see any scenario where the two programs don't have impact on each other. Knowing Hop for a long time, he is going to do what he thinks he needs to do to win. Gerry is going to do what he thinks he needs to do to win. They are both in the same region from a recruiting standpoint. They will respect each other, but I expect they will go head to head... and both will do their damnedest to beat the other.
If SU is going head to head with Siena then we’re absolutey screwed.

That’s like saying UConn and Fairfield are going head to head to head against each other.

College “GM” is not a pro GM. College GMs essentially work for the coach. College GMs don’t have decision making power. College GMs don’t make much money.

Hop ain’t going to work for Gerry for peanuts.
Eh, I will survive

That is not an appropriate analogy. What if it is an upgrade opportunity for the individual such as head coach versus continuation of an assistant role, increased responsibility with projection in the future, no? I do appreciate response in context concerning a player.

Riiiiiight.

"Barked him out"? I have an inkling of what that might mean but can you please clarify. If it's what I am thinking I would be very surprised that a leader would behave like that.
Baloo is the mascot.

New article on Syracue.com by Brent Axe cites an Albany reporter who cites a source saying:

“Hopkins wasn’t fully committed to taking the Siena job at this time.”

Hmmm. Either they chose not to hire him and they're letting him off easy or I wonder if another opportunity came up. Or maybe he just had 2nd thoughts like they weren't committed enough with resources.

I think he had 4 daughters and no sons
He had at least one son named Griffin of Griffith after his dad.

Update: Mike Hopkins haas 3 children:
sons Griff and Grant, and a daughter named Ella.

I remember that Griff was good friends with Buddy Boeheim (who was older than him).
