Beyond Big Ben, if that's what Marsh meant(I wasnt assuming Bill Clinton), you've got folks who are likely have done worse like Ray Lewis

Thing about animal torture and cruelty is that it is highly correlative with human torture and murder. Both are awful as is serial rape and many other horrible acts. These kinda things you cant rank as which is worse imho and they are all scumbags for life and deserve the worst of what they get.

It just shows people and how they react. Look i love dogs. Had one for 11 years. They are not humans. Raping a girl is worse. So is assault. So is attempted murder. So is child pornography. So is drug trafficking. I could go on. I actually had a conversation with a client once who tried to say with a straight face that what vick did was worse than what ted bundy did. On my mothers soul. I was speechless. When i attempted to rebuttal he said "dogs are human beings too...you must not be a pet lover." Speechless

No way... kinda like saying "Well yeah he USED to be a pedophile, but he's been a good guy since." There are some things that once you do, you're a scumbag for life. There's no coming back.

So Jerry Sandusky and Mike Vick are on the same playing field, figuratively speaking?

Looking forward to this answer.

1st world problems. For real, as horrible as his acts were. We are spoiled, relative to the majority of the world. But most of us cant be troubled to think about it. It's the fault of the American media, the most powerful entity in the world, for wasting our time with charades and infotainment to further their own objective. But anyone who wants to learn can't absolve themselves when we have the internet. When the student is ready the teacher will appear.

I am more strong minded in protection of animals than some but its not so much saying dogs vs humans etc. The excessive amount of death, torture and total lack of respect for life irrespective of being a dog or human is the issue. Its the fact that kind of behavior is something common in people who kill other people. Killing animals and abusing them is a precursor. Hopefully he is 100 pct clean and completely moved on but it takes a certain type of person to do that. Much darker than just someone who shoots their dog or kicks a dog etc.

Yeah its all about perspective too. Things we see as normal other countries and cultures see as criminal and punishable. I hear the point but perspective plays a key role too.

There's a line you cross where its irrelevant what else you do... you're a scumbag. I'm not going to rank evil. There's plenty of room for both Vick and Sandusky in the bus off a cliff. What Vick did wasn't a drunk night where he made an awful choice and spent the rest of his life making up for it. He tortured and killed animals, stone sober... and then decided over and over that not only was it not wrong, he enjoyed it and made the conscience choice to do it again.

People that hurt dogs lack any humanity.

They don't all of a sudden develop it.

Screw Mike Vick.
I liken hurting dogs to hurting kids. They are both pretty innocent and if you're capable of hurting either you're capable of some pretty bad shitt. I can understand why a person may want to hurt another person, but you can't justify to me hurting a kid... or a dog. Unless that dog is chewing on your beef.

We lived next door to a guy who tortured and killed his own dog and poisoned ours growing up. He tried to kill his wife and both his kids a few years later. My anecdotal experience but its why I feel so strongly about it as well. Was a long time ago but disturbing none the less.

Unfortunately, this picture reminds me that we should have won that game were it not for Nunes the Magician. He managed to make a win disappear by passing the ball to the wrong team.

Actually, I believe in redemption. But I also believe in consequences. They can co-exist in the same space. I would argue with no one for continuing to despise the man.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with those who see him as a success story or redemption just the same as nothing wrong with those who see evil at different levels.

WOW! That's horrible. I wish I could wave my fingers in front of your eyes and remove that memory permanently.

Yeah he was a monster. Luckily the wife and kids are doing well now. Unfortunately the legal system failed and he gets out in a year...

Pure hypothetical: if Vick goes to SU, how does that change the last 15 years of SU football?

National title contenders in 1999 and 2000. Those teams had strong defenses and running games. No QB.

How does it change it? For one, we would be more inclined to remember it...

I was never sold on his rehabilitation. It came across to me as insincere. Plenty of people thought the opposite, and I do not begrudge them their forgiveness of him. However, I do think it is possible to change - I just don't think he really, truly did. He paid his debt, but it doesn't mean I have to like him.

When he was winning a few games for the Eagles, I had very mixed feelings. He showed flashes of greatness in the NFL, but it was never sustainable. I truly wish the Eagles had never signed him. It made for an awkward transition post DM, and really, ultimately, did not provide much value. I will not be sorry to see him go.
