Either way, he’s been with the team and enjoying the experience. Glad he’s able to. He deserves the fun too.

He set the tone in game #1 pumping up the crowd and his teammates … and he didn’t let up. You’d think attitude was easy because it’s free but it’s the rarest thing to find. Must have amazing parents. Congrats to everyone - including us if we see him tomorrow!

A little disappointed that none of our NFLers are playing when you have Bryce Young and Will Anderson, as well as practically the entire Minnesota team, playing in their bowl games. Having said that, Mikel has been my favorite SU player. A little surprised he's not playing when Dino previously indicated his injury was a short-term one.

Minnesota has pretty much their entire team from their season playing. We are missing a number of MAJOR pieces. It kinda sucks. Would be an incredible win if we can get it.

He tore ACL in September I think, so he has a ways to go before seeing the field I believe.

but its wild that late round nfl prospects (everyone but Bergergon) is sitting out the bowl that they made it such a priority to play in.

rrlbees are you 100% sure hes not playing? I find it beyond odd that no one has mentioned it at all. including every reporter and an in depth expose on his career. like NOTHING.

The kid could have gone to the NFL after last season, he also could have bolted for NIL money to the loser U. He did neither and we are forever grateful for that

With that being said, try to enjoy the game today no matter what, we are, shall we say, depleted!

Just such a high quality representative of Syracuse University. He’s been a phenomenal leader and player. I hope he gets everything he’s looking for and more. Hard work and dedication have paid off and he’s left a mark on the players that will follow him here at Syracuse.

Mikel was a great representative of Syracuse and see him having a similar career that Zaire has had, but hopefully he gets the opportunity just a bit sooner.

On another note I have been very surprised just how many players from all the previous bowls have chosen to play in their bowl game and then we make a bowl game for the first time in 5 years and all our draft eligible guys opt out.
