He’s a higher upside Zaire imo. He could have gone and competed for a roster spot.

This is a huge piece returning, and a fan favorite, but its ok to acknowledge that we lost multiple p5 calibre players to the portal and our depth as it currently looks is very concerning.

Dino’s doing the right things though to combat it. At least the things that are within his power. Mikel staying is a big win for the staff.

Ive watched both during their time at SU. Mikel’s been the better MLB. Both, by today’s standards, are undersized. Zaire’s carved out a permanent role on Indianapolis by outworking everyone and being a leader. I think Mikel can do that too, and has a more appealing skillset to start from. Thats just my opinion. Love both players.

Was there a specific part of the locker room that Dino lost?
Maybe a particular group of lockers or something?

Because he seems to have been able to find fairly large swaths of it otherwise.

The leaders are staying and that says something. I was the one predicting an “exodus” after 2019. I’ve always owned that. I find each years outgoing transfers to be more concerning than the last’s, buttt Dino’s done a remarkable job keeping the meat on the bone and keeping this core in tact.
