Most of these transfers made sense from the students perspective. GCA played a lot of snaps as the 4th lber, that one didn't make a lot of sense to me. I was hopeful LaBrosse would come back given he was a starter but maybe it was indicated that his spot was gone?

I think he’s a great athlete but he can play at Rutgers for all I care now. Only concern I had in regard to him was if Mikel decided to not come back. We’ll be fine. We had 2 really solid LBer recruits last year and 2 more in this class. Plus it’s easy to pick up a JUCO or portal kid for depth if we have to.

I’ll have to go back and check the first few weeks, but I think Anwar Sparrow was the back up MIKE and if not he was definitely in the mix. If he’s healthy he should be good in there on the 2 deep.

Well, if he can throw for TD’s, hurdle defenders, and air-punch other defenders, then maybe, just maybe, he’ll be our next Heisman candidate.

OL depth IMO too. I think if OL can play reasonably most games it’s more important than the other positions of need.

OL has the numbers and the solid position coach. Health (recovery for Bleich, Vett) and development are the keys.

DL is really where need to get some bigger older humans there.

I def agree there’s a huge need at DL. OL has always been a concern and I think another couple OL from the portal that can add some depth, wouldn’t be a bad move.

I think Garrett’s got the great cover abilities… and I’m hoping offenses will make the mistake of challenging him more rather than chancing throws against Duce following his freshman campaign. Duce’s ability to tackle and blow up a play before it develops is incredible. Garrett though has the better coverage skills

Yup he certainly can be a liability out there but I’m willing to let that go as he was a true freshman. Impressive he was even on the field.

Deuce is exceptional in run and short game coverage, but a healthy Garrett is the superior CB right now.

Mikel is my favorite player on the team. One of my favorite players ever for that matter. He has that Dungey like leadership and I love that for a defender, particularly a MLB. I expect another huge season from him. Very happy he is back! Let's hope Garrett is next.
