Syracuse-bound Alvin Cornelius was hardly targeted after his 42-yard reception set up Tottenville’s second touchdown, a 2-yard run by Barnes, who completed just 4-of-13 passes for 78 yards with an interception and a touchdown pass.

Munson said it had little to do with the fact Erasmus All-American Wayne Morgan blanketed Cornelius, doing his best Darrelle Revis impression. The plan was to control the clock and keep the explosive Dutchmen off the field, the coach said.

“I didn’t think we had much of a passing game,” Munson said. “We tried a couple of big passes. You see it didn’t come to fruition.”

Afterward, Cornelius didn’t complain about his lack of opportunities. He was furious with the loss. He then made a guarantee, which was more shocking than the defeat since it came from the usually soft-spoken senior.
“This is gonna be our first and last loss,” he promised.

2) No hitters on defense and there has not been any since Donovin Darius left. Think about it - is there ANYONE on our D that opposing offensive players fear? When is the last time we saw a Jags D player actually "jack someone up" like Balt, Pitts, etc. etc

But the real story has been the Michigan defense. These Wolverines aren't vastly more talented than last year's horrendous group, but they're flying to the ball and creating pressure and turnovers (12). They've allowed a combined 10 points the past three games. That's a big change from the disastrous Greg Robinson era.

Also from this story:

Your Big East football Saturday included Western Michigan beating Connecticut, Marshall beating Louisville and Rutgers beating Syracuse 19-16 -- in double overtime. But this league must be saved.

Under the ACC headline, I love the perception of the BC person who wrote the article:

Adding Syracuse and Pitt, two football programs with similar historical success to BC, will draw more fans consistently to Alumni Stadium.

Rutgers and Temple, maybe. Syracuse and Pitt? Someone needs to get that kid a reference book on college football history.

Saw another article on the demise of BC football that is pretty interesting...

And on an even stranger note - Oliver Luck had "no comment" on BE talks.

Another article on the ACC expansion from the BC perspective. This one is the 'con' for expansion. It is laughably clueless and naive:

The BC 'Con' for ACC Expansion

For football, the ACC adds two mediocre teams, which may prove to be competitive for BC but does nothing to improve the prestige of the conference. The truth is that the Pitt Panthers and Syracuse Orange have minimal history in football and the BC football program, though struggling right now, arguably holds a higher standing in people's minds due to its recent success.

I think the author mean BC Superfan's minds...

Pitt and Syracuse have minimal history in football?

Combined 10 National Championships... the 12 current teams in the ACC have 14 National Championships combined, with Miami and Georgia Tech combining for 9 of them.

Syracuse - Tied for #15 All Time Wins
Pittsburgh - #20 All Time Wins

Highest current ACC teams? Georgia Tech - Tied with Syracuse for #15 All Time... VTech - #17 All Time. That means that Syracuse will be in the Top 1 or 2 teams for All Time wins in the ACC when they join. Guess they don't have much history...

SU needs to keep the Swartzwalder Trophy this year. Oliver Luck is still mad that SU beat WVU when he was a QB. "Air Force over SU any day of the week" foolish comment
