Morbidly curious who will announce first

No. Go after elite transfers. If we can get McCord on the football side we can get an elite basketball transfer.
Fran expects the fan base, donors, and alums to pony up, up to $8m per year on top of what the school allocates for NIL - and that's probably for retention and recruitment of what, 15-20 guys

What does Red need for 4-5?

To be fair, JJ was a highly rated McD all-American and first-team all-ACC freshman. That's at least as "elite" of a pedigree as Kyle had coming in. It just didn't work out with JJ (and injuries may have at least something to do with that).
Kyle started for a one loss Ohio State team
JJ was a starter on a losing Notre Dame team.

It’s not close

Because JJ is horribly inefficient, can't shoot, and can't defend - not the attributes you want from a shooting guard.
I should have stipulated "as long as he's less of a head case" for Bell, because when he's not a head case he is an elite shooter and those are good to have on hand.
People would say otherwise if he's 4th best player on the team. Seems like good guy and good teammate and plays hard I'll take him all day and root for him wherever he goes

Maybe Red is going all in on our current players. Retain
Cuffe
Petar
Donnie
Moore
JJ
Bell.

Add a top 5 and PG and roll.
Perhaps Red should check w/the GM first

Mike Waters just posted a tweet saying Chris Bell dad told him that his son hasn’t made a decision yet because end of season interviews with the coaches hasn’t even taken place yet…. Maybe they told the players to take a week off for spring break? Anyways we just seem very nonchalant for a program coming off the worst season in 60 years. Maybe that isn’t a bad thing though because they know our position financially is good compared to the competition (whoever that may be) and don’t need to be aggressive early with the players we plan to target.

With that same core backed up by White, Anthony, Fennell and Womack, we are a lot better than with Taylor, Davis, Carlos and an injured McLeod and Westry.

Then it all depends on the center and point you’re able to get.

Does not mean things are not happening...

People would say otherwise if our entire offense wasn’t giving Starling the ball in isolation.

Some games he can dominate, some few games they can guard him straight up, but almost every team can scheme to guard one guy effectively.

The Starling 12-23 games where he scores 27 are his upside, but if he even had anybody else who was a significant perimeter threat, he’d be so much more effective.

That, or an offensive scheme.

We have money to get players this year. Whether they want to play for this staff is another story.
It’s probably why we won’t fare well. We’ll have to overpay and i can hear the spin now. “We didn’t expect those numbers, bla bla bla”

Is our financial situation good? When did that happen?

I stand by The Chris Bell Experience™.

If Chris decides to end his career as a 4 year Orangeman, we should celebrate it. That will be a true rarity in this era of college basketball.

Idk just speculating. If you didn’t feel confident about the situation, I would think that you would want player interviews done asap and the decisions made, so that you can be aggressive early before the big money teams come calling.
