More terrible coaching

Purely opinion, but seeing Jimmy get torched over and over inside and then seeing Frank anchor it down low in OT getting stops, I can’t help but believe it.
It’s in black and white now. We saw Jimmy at the 5 followed immediately by Frank at the and it was night and day. It cost us the game. You simply cannot defend that choice

It was easy to overcome, we had the game one if we could literally make a simple inbound pass. Could have easily won if we played a center for the last 9 minutes of regulation. Wake handed us the game over and over and over and we still lost.
I'm sure the Wake coach couldn't believe we played the last 9 minutes of regulation and the first 3 minutes of OT with no center. He must have been saying to himself, "thanks for the gift". It was an absolute layup drill.

It was talked about last spring as being likely. I wish they were wrong.
Exactly and again we all knew the brothers were going to get minutes. Benny's positive minutes mean Jesse or Frank get less because the core four aren't sitting.

Jimmy is the only guy on the team who can create his own shot. All the other guys are catch and shoot players who can't put the ball on the floor or drive it to the rim. It's a poorly constructed team.
Not according to coach. He actually said in todays presser that Buddy is the only guy that create his own shot

Waters asked about this in the presser. Jim said Frank had been standing around and not involved….the smaller lineup was best there

Yes. But it can’t be seen by the untrained eye. To the eye that has brains, it’s obvious. You would think that after 40 years he would be able to devise a inbounds play.

That was my tipping point for the JB era
Honestly, mine was "Marek at the 5-spot" for the prior 2 years.
In spite of how we finished last year, I never quite understood the wisdom/logic of that move, and it took 2 full seasons before paying some dividends with a Sweet16 run.
Meanwhile we all watched as we kept getting hammered, game after game, and playing "6-men-and-a-cloud-of dust" basketball, because..."no one's ready".
In retrospect, that was my tipping point. Now I'm just waiting for the final curtain and epilogue.

This. This wasn’t exactly a fast process getting here, the signs have been there for the last three years and unfortunately as of right now there is no end in sight.

Yes, I predicted this would happen and many posters were adamant that Jimmy would never see a single minute at center. This the second time we've seen it this year and I would be very surprised if we don't see it again. Waiting for coach to blast his son for his horrible defense at the 5, since he seems to have no problem with publicly blasting Edwards.

I honestly think the constant bashing of Edwards in the postgames is a sign that we are going to see Benny getting more minutes and JB moving Jimmy Jr to the 5 to keep him on the court.

As long as that results in me seeing Jimmy hitting a hook shot from the three at some point this year, I'm okay with it.

We don’t get to the sweet 16 without Jesse’s play and he was one of the only players to show up vs Houston

You know what would be even better than blasting his son?

blasting himself and stop blaming the players. Every. single. Game.

i know it’s normalized to us now, but you don’t see coaches blaming players EVERY GAME even in the fn pros. some coaches take the blame on themselves every game on purpose (Andy Reid is one specifically)

Look, I don't want him blasting ANY player in the pressers.
Sorry, not suggesting you did. Just stating the obvious since it wouldn’t make it better if he crapped on his own sons failure at center when he put him there.

Rakeem at the five, Lydon at the five, Dolezaj at the five...now his own kid.

The guy is too impatient with his natural centers and the ripple effects have lowered the ceiling for a lot of teams.

Say, I have an idea for what will break the trend with respect to this bad coaching. Let's hire a destitute man's version of the current coach who is failing from inside the program!

Why throw away the family dynamic of the last 45 years? What could possibly go wrong?
