Since the back to back NIT years in 2006-07 and 2007-08 our program has really taken off to a new level, both in terms of recruiting and in terms of on court results. This is our second longest streak in program history of winning at least one game in the NCAA tournament; current streak is 5 years consecutive years. Prior streak was 8 years from 82-83 through 89-90

2008-09
28-10 (11-7) Sweet Sixteen - 3 Seed

2009-10
30-5 (15-3) Sweet Sixteen - 1 Seed

2010-11
27-8 (12-6) Round of 32 - 3 Seed

2011-12
34-3 (17-1) Elite Eight - 1 Seed

2012-13
30-10 (11-7) Final Four - 4 Seed

It has been argued that Dave Bing, Pearl Washington and Carmelo Anthony each in different ways could be viewed as the most important player that has played in our program.

Taking just the guys that have played in this era of resurgence who do you think has been most important to the success we've had.

You mean since the 08 season?

If so then CJ and probably Dion to an extent.

Jonny Flynn. That 09 team brought us out of the wilderness and back into the spotlight. Really underrated team that found itself at the end of the year. And brought us that amazing 6OT game.

You cant pinpoint one player. Andy Rautins helped get Brandon Triche. Scoop and Rick were highly recruited players from the same school and getting Scoop helped us land Dion. Wes Johnson was a huge transfer that was way better than we all could have expected. Johnny Flynn/Paul Harris were big at the time. All of these guys helped bring in the guys we have today

Paul Harris is the recruit that kicked off the current run of great recruiting classes, so you could point to him. But IIRC, Scoop Jardine was the first of the two Neumann Goretti players to sign. He brought Ricky along with him, and later Dion, and re-opened the Philly pipeline that would later include Rakeem Christmas. You can arguably even include Cooney in the list, as his corner of Delaware is in the Philadelphia MSA.

I'm going with Scoop.
