If they get to the final win or lose it could change some minds about leaving just saying.
Don’t speak for the board, especially when you’re in the minority. You shared nothing but a thought. Keep it to yourself, the board will be better without it.
I agree that many kids think about leaving college their freshman year. I know I did. But by the very end of the second semester, I knew I’d found where I wanted to be. It just took a little time to adjust. This has been an unprecedented and hugely challenging year for everyone, and social bonds were so much harder to create. Hopefully Kadary understands—and our coaches instill in him—that things will be very different next season across the board.??? Sometimes, people aren't happy where they are. There doesn't have to be a good guy or a bad guy. And you can't make people want to stay somewhere. Once again, not saying he is gone for sure. All of this could be very old news, but some places aren't the right place for everyone. Any of us that went to school, did you think about leaving? True story, about 10 weeks in to my first semester, I went home and told my mom that I wanted to leave Syracuse. She heard me out and said , no. You wanted to go so bad, you are going to stick it out. I fell in love with Syracuse. Minds change. I just wanted people to know what I am hearing.
It's study groups, isn't it?I mean if I were an incoming freshman on the Cuse basketball team I know the one thing that I would be looking forward to most once I got on campus and seeing how that one thing can’t be done without close contact I’m sure players have been asked to refrain when possible
So yeah I could see how the experience could fail to meet expectations in a couple of ways
Thanks for clarifying. I’m sure you wish you hadn’t posted this. Lol. It will be incredibly depressing if he leaves. But maybe it’s a Dion-type situation that will get rectified. The ncaa needs to rethink barreling ahead with this transfer rule change. The only thing it has to do with Blackwell's comments was that it got me asking today. Hoping of course to hear it was B.S. I didn't. What bothers me is that I was told it wasn't about playing time. I think that means it was about his college experience this year. I am not saying he is gone, by any means. Just reporting what I heard. I almost wish I hadn't at this point.
The more the merrier! It's study groups, isn't it?
The NCAA is going to destroy the fan experience of college basketball with this rule change. Hopefully a lot of this is just smoke but no fire.I had lunch today with a Carolina friend who said that he heard all five of their starters were leaving. He was disconsolate.
The single most puzzling aspect of this board over the years - if possible to pick just one - is how elusive a concept it is for many that individuals will (and damn well should) make decisions that they believe are best for them based on basketball and non basketball factors that are known and unknown by us. For those that honestly cannot understand that, you should try a little harder. It’s not that complex. In one way Oakland is right. I wish I hadn't posted it. For one thing, it wasn't 100% solid gold. Hell, the info could have been old. Any of us would have looked at this differently 3 weeks ago. I only asked about it after I heard what Blackwell said. Believe me, that wasn't the answer I wanted to hear.

For those that haven't experience the effects of Covid it can be energy draining and can be totally exhausting. I know I am not a young athletic man like Buddy and Joe, but when Covid hit me, it hit hard. I had Covid for about 7 weeks starting in January. I am still feeling the exhaustion and being out of breath. I walk up a couple flight of stairs and feel out of breath. I truly believe that is why Buddy and Joe were off at the beginning and middle of the year. They are both playing well right now and I think it has a lot to do with the fact they may be finally fully recovered from Covid. Obviously, this is just an assumption on my part. For me, Buddy is most important. We need someone who can shoot from the outside on a consistent basis and stretch the defense.Covid had a bit to do with that this year. And as I said, Joe G had it even worse.
Transfers have been in for a while. I think the thing is guys needed the redshirt more than anyone will admit and no redshirt transfers will hurt transfers in general. Your transfering because you couldn't play at the last place and the only reason it worked out was because you had a year to redshirt with your new team and were a lot older when you got to play compared to the freshmen you compete with for PT.
Now guys will transfer and sit on the bench instead of redshirting and then in turn transfer again.
I can't believe I read through 7 pages of this thread and no one said so and so is the straw that really stirs the drink.

Thanks but I actually see the point of those that are upset. I almost always only post things that I am sure of with information. This was not that. Honestly, when I inquired about Kadray, it was my intention that I would be told that there is nothing to it. I didn't get that. It upset me and I thought I should share it. I have said it over and over again now but I wished I hadn't. The information isn't 100% and it only served to upset some people. I, as much as anyone here, likes Kadray and want to see him back here next year. I don't know the date of the information either. Kadray might have wondered at one point why buddy was playing so much. Now, we all know why. Plus, this run couldn't hurt either. For fans of the program, I do not understand how dasher can share a bit of relevant info... nothing definitive, no predictions of outcome, just some insight from a trustworthy/solid source that basically boils down to “Kadary may be unhappy with his college experience” & the response is: “HoW dArE YoU SiR!??!11!! WhY iS KAdArY TrAnSfErInG??!1!? StOp ShArInG YoUr BaSElEsS sPeCuLaTiOnS!!!11!!” It’s absolutely wild...
I, for one, love, value & enjoy getting a peek behind the scenes of the program from time to time on the board (which happens less & less, thanks to responses like this thread). It doesn’t always need to definitive decisions or actions, but just a taste of current realities off the court, relationships & chemistry, etc.

I'd feel better about the situation if I felt the coaches and teammates were nipping this in the bud and not letting it even get to this point. Thanks but I actually see the point of those that are upset. Well, it isn't up to his teammates to make sure he is happy. And if a kid, any kid, is unhappy, often times, there isn't much you can do to make them happy.I'd feel better about the situation if I felt the coaches and teammates were nipping this in the bud and not letting it even get to this point.
Agreed. But they’re only discussing a one-time no-sit-out transfer, not unlimited. If a player transfers again, they’d have to sit out a year as a redshirt.Transfers have been in for a while. I’m not saying there’s a magic cure but empathy and “just being there” to listen and remind him that the team stands behind him can certainly help.Well, it isn't up to his teammates to make sure he is happy. We don't know that hasn't happened.I’m not saying there’s a magic cure but empathy and “just being there” to listen and remind him that the team stands behind him can certainly help.
