Maybe the play is to move Rex back to TE and let the two Frosh split time. It’s clear Rex is not a QB and our chances to win don’t go up. Also why don’t we just cut summers and move on.
We wouldn’t move Rex mid season, especially since we don’t know how good the freshmen QBs are and if they are durable enough to last the season. We can play the freshmen without making Rex a TE.Maybe the play is to move Rex back to TE and let the two Frosh split time. It’s clear Rex is not a QB and our chances to win don’t go up. Easy to do when you have a good lead late in the game or you know you will win easy.Smart by Dabo to get kids ready. I know they have big leads but still smart to work QBs in for a series or two during a game
Actually scholarships are year to year, although I do not believe SU has ever used that to drop a scholarship player. Other football schools have, some often. We wouldn’t move Rex mid season, especially since we don’t know how good the freshmen QBs are and if they are durable enough to last the season. Also scholarship players don’t get “cut”. The scholarship is for 4 years.
I think the idea is just moving him somewhere if he really wants to come back and play next year, honestly it doesn't matter where.Since I’ve been on this board there’s always been this weird fascination of moving Qb’s especially, to TE.
Can we wait till we have an offense that uses the TE before we start moving them all there?
Maybe we can move Rex to LB. Thats always been a fan favorite over the years too.

Bear, I'm getting old and maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but I thought the ACC made a policy decision to have four year scholarships.Actually scholarships are year to year, although I do not believe SU has ever used that to drop a scholarship player. Other football schools have, some often.
Syracuse generally has told players they will not play here and left them to decide to transfer, but has not forced them out. Most in that scenario elect to transfer.
I believe you are right but that was very recent. I will plead age myself. Oh to be 65 again.Bear, I'm getting old and maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but I thought the ACC made a policy decision to have four year scholarships.
No, they are 4 year scholarships, at least since fall 2015.Actually scholarships are year to year, although I do not believe SU has ever used that to drop a scholarship player. Other football schools have, some often.

Beginning this fall, schools in the “power five” conferences – the SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 12 – mandated four-year scholarships for their athletes following January’s passage of landmark rules changes.
Right I forgot ACC changed that recently and applies to ACC schools, but SU never used the year to year to revoke scholies anyway. No, they are 4 year scholarships, at least since fall 2015.

It is smart to give him packages. Its also helps to have a freshman that can make every throw. DJ obviously been getting 2nd team reps since the summer.Smart by Dabo to get kids ready. I know they have big leads but still smart to work QBs in for a series or two during a game
Well, if you DFA him and he clears waivers, can't you send him down to CNS?We wouldn’t move Rex mid season, especially since we don’t know how good the freshmen QBs are and if they are durable enough to last the season. We can play the freshmen without making Rex a TE.

Yes, but Marcellus would claim him off waivers though.Well, if you DFA him and he clears waivers, can't you send him down to CNS?
Clemson has luxuries we don’t have.“This kid is an absolute freak,” Tebow said of Uiagalelei, per 247Sports. “He’s 6-foot-5, 250 (pounds). He can run the football probably more effective and power in goal-line situations than Trevor could, but listen — this kid can also sling the football. He wasn’t a five-star and the No. 2 quarterback in the country for no reason. What I like about him at such a young age is when they put him in the game — and Dabo has prepared him well because he’s had a lot of snaps so far this season. He’s shown poise in every situation. He’s played early in games, he’s played late in games and he’s played to control the clock. He’s played in a lot of situations. I want to give credit to Dabo right now because Dabo has helped prepare him for this situation. He’s not just a five-star. He’s a five-star that actually has a little bit of experience heading into the situation.”
Was a long term solutionI mean, maybe we could do some wildcat stuff with him at TE and Morgan at QB or something but nah, let’s not move him to TE.
I can’t believe that was even said at this point in the season
